It seems I've gotten my first letter! Let's see what this ravishing reader wants to
know…
Dear
Lancy,
I
wanna be 100 pounds. I'm 107 right now and
I can NOT lose the rest of the weight!
I'm trying, HELP ME! And no, I'm not an anorexic. I want abs like

to be Fabulously Thin
Dear Wants,
First of all, I'm glad you're not an anorexic! Anorexia is a
very tragic disease that affects many people, and to know that you're not
affected by it comforts me. Second of all, I don't know how tall you are, so
107 may not even be a medically healthy weight for you, but I'm sure you look
fabulous! I don't think losing any more weight would be advisable, even if it's
7 pounds.
In fact, Red Jewel (HimTak's
resident doctor) tells me that a gentleman of my height (5'10", in case
you were wondering) should have a weight of at least 130 pounds,
according to something doctors use called the Body Mass Index, or BMI. 130
pounds is actually the bare, bare minimum for someone my height. She
also wanted me to let you know that in order for your current weight to be
within the ideal BMI, you'd have to be 5'3" or shorter!
It sounds like you're too worried about your image and not
your health! I think all you might need is a fabulous makeover! A fresh look
can add a spark to your style! And if that's what you want, then you've come to
the right place!
I think you should sit down and think about what's going on
in your life. Are you having trouble
with school? Work? Home? Sometimes when things are going wrong in our lives
that we have no power over, we focus on things that we can control ourselves,
like our weight or our hair color or something physical like that. Make sure your focus on losing these few
pounds isn't just a mask for something else that's bothering you.
But, if this is really just about looks, try pilates, yoga, or light weightlifting, and cardio. You may
think that looking like Nicole is something to strive for, but I've got to tell
you, as much as I admire her for her fabulous style, she's not really the girl
to admire when it comes to the bathroom scale. You should be trying to build
and tone muscle, not just lose fat.

(Looking
as skinny as Nicole Richie = NOT FABULOUS!!!)
Just remember I'm not a doctor(although
I did consult one!), so you should probably talk to one to those about
your health. In the meantime, I wish you the best of luck, and let me know
about that makeover!
