Brian and I
had been dating all through high school, we were high school sweet hearts and
everyone thought we were the cutest couple. But that was about to change, one
day in April of 1994. Brian was in his history class and was called down to the
office…
'Oh god!! What did I do
now?' Brian
thought to himself as he walked out of his history class and down the hall to
the office. He looked up and saw his girlfriend Alicia coming out of her class
and she hadn't noticed him walking down the hall. He quietly ran down so he was
behind her, he wrapped an arm around her waist and covered her mouth with his
free hand and she laughed.
I turned around and Brian
smiled. "You scared me half to death!!" I said and he kissed me.
"Why were you called down to the office?" I asked. "I don't
know, that's where I'm going now." Brian said. "Okay, well you'll
have to tell me after school." I said and took a drink from the fountain.
"Mrs. Tanner will suspect something if I'm gone to long." I said.
"Okay, I'll see you after class." Brian said and kissed me one more
time and then I ran back to class.
Brian walked in the office
nervously and saw the secretary smiling. "Relax, it's just a phone
call." She said and Brian laughed slightly as she handed him the phone.
"Hello?" Brian said. "Hi Brian!! It's your cousin Kevin from
"Yo Brian!! You
awake!!" Chris called. Chris was Brian's best friend since they were born.
They had grown up together and were best friends. "Yeah, I'm awake."
Brian said. "So what did you do?" Chris asked jokingly. "I just
got call from Kevin." Brian said. "Really? How's he doing?"
"Fine, he just asked me to come down to
"Hey you!" I
said as I wrapped my arms around Brian and he smiled slightly. "What did
you do bad boy?" I asked and Melanie laughed, who was hugging Chris. "Nothing
they just needed to talk to me about my heart condition. They wanted to know
the latest details." Brian lied. "Okay, so do you want to got to the
mall or something?" I asked and Brian shut his locker. "Actually, I
have to go home and talk to my mom about something, how about we hang out later
tonight?" Brian asked. "Okay, sure. Where do you want to go?"
"How about we just take a walk along the beach?" Brian asked.
"Okay, that's fine. Around 7?" "Great, I'll see you then."
Brian said and kissed me and then left with Chris to go home.
"What's up with
him?" Melanie asked. "He always wants to hang out with you after
school." Melanie said. "I know, I don't know what's wrong. He seemed
really tense when I hugged him." "Maybe he's just tired or something,
I mean he's been having tests done on him all week." Melanie said. "I
don't know…I have a feeling something's going on. And I have a feeling it's
bad." I said and Melanie just looked at me.
