Chapter 28

He pushed Melanie off him and stared directly to where Amber was. Who the hell was the guy with her? She was supposed to be moping for him and eating Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. But his uncle was right like mother like daughter.

“Take me to dance Ricky. I am getting bored here just watching you stare at your ex and her totally hot date.”

He looked at Melanie and without really wanting to dance; he pulled Melanie to the dance floor. He wasn’t going to let Amber ruin his prom, she would pay just not yet.

***********

Deception, that’s what she felt as she saw Ricky dancing with his date. She smiled as she saw Baylee coming back with the drinks.

“You don’t have to make so obvious. He doesn’t deserve you to feel like you are, he apparently has moved on,” he handed her a cup of punch. He took a seat next to her and held her hand in his. He wished he could make it so she didn’t feel like she did.

She squeezed his hand, “why don’t you dance with me? I’m sure that will make me happy.” She smiled as he genuinely and gentleman like asked her to dance. He was so goofy sometimes, but he was sincere and – he was right. Ricky did not deserve her; she did not want someone jealous.

Just as she and he made it to the dance floor, a slow song came on. He smiled knowing that now he would dance really close to her.

*************

He kissed her shouldeR, smiled as she turned around and kissed him. He didn’t know how to describe the feeling he was having at the moment. But, it was a good one. “I love you.”

She smiled and kissed his lips, before she sat up and looked at the clock on the table. “Oh, my god its 1:00 am and Amber is not here yet?” she suddenly felt a knot in her stomach.

“She’s probably still out with her friends and Baylee don’t worry.” Alex grabbed his phone and dialed Amber’s phone. “Let’s call her just to be sure.”

Pamela nodded and started to get dressed. Amber never went out and not call her at least once. She ran to her room and checked her phone to make she hadn’t received any calls. None. She walked back to Alex’s room, which was now up and getting dressed too. She started to dial herself and only got a busy tone.

“She’s not answering, let me call Baylee.” He now was starting to worry what if something happened? But, before he could dial he got a text message, relieved when he saw it had come from Amber’s phone. “She just send me text message,” he said he opened the text: Amber is fine for now anyway… But I have a question for you ALEX how does it feel to have someone you love not show up? I will call with more details soon…..You’re in for surprise….. :)  He felt like a bucket of cold water had been poured on him, who had his daughter? He didn’t know how to tell his wife to be the news; he just felt like dieing, he didn’t even realize he was crying till he heard Pamela ask him what was wrong. He could hear the fear in her voice and when he tried to tell her about the message he couldn’t. He just handed her the phone and put his hands over his face, not wanting to experience her reaction.

She had to read the message two times before it settled in, her daughter was not okay she was being held hostage by some unknown person. “No, no no no this isn’t happening! It’s a joke right? Who could want to hurt my daughter?” she fell to the ground and started to cry. She felt Alex’s hands come around her and she asked the inevitable, “who? Alex who would want to hurt us like this?”

“I don’t know but, this is not going to stay like this. We have to inform the police and Brian, because Baylee is with her… SH*T, why now, why?” he dialed the familiar number and it was quickly answered: 9-1-1 what’s your emergency?

**********

“Amber? Amber? Are you okay? Answer me Amber!” nothing, not even a moan; where was he and why had he been tied and blindfolded for? This must be a mistake and soon they will let us go. He thought to himself as he finally started to panic.

“Shut up, Amber is not in here. It’s just you…” he said to the young man, lying on the floor. Man he loved his job.

“Who are you? Why do you have me here? I haven’t done anything to deserve this!” yelled in anger Baylee as he tried to free himself, to no avail. He then started to sob, he had so much to accomplish in life and now it may not even happen, “I don’t even know you, Sir please let Amber and me go. I think you made a mistake…” then he heard another mans laugh.

He started laughing at the stupidities, this kid was saying. “Mistakes, I don’t make mistakes kid… aren’t you Baylee Littrell, son of former Backstreet boy Brian Littrell? I believe so.  Now you’re right I wasn’t planning to harm you, but you, how can I say this came in to the picture as a bonus…? You’re the one that made the mistake kid, the mistake of coming to Dallas and involving yourself with her, that bastard that is lying in the next room!” he laughed even harder as he saw the effect it took on the kid to know that he knew who he was. “Come on now kid, your just like them, you think you’re the Sh*t because your famous. Maybe its true you could be the sh*t but, then you come into the life of other men’s woman and just because your famous she leaves a relationship with a normal man to be with the infamous. You’re a low piece of sh*t, just like…..like AJ McLean. Stupid bastard befriended me and then took away the love of my LIFE!” he drank his glass of whisky and slammed to the wall, breaking to pieces. “Take care of him, make sure he feels welcome. Ah, just don’t go overboard Blade or you will regret it.” With that he walked out the room and started to the next room…

***************

“Stupid idiot! What were you thinking doing this at this moment! And you all that listened to him! I am the boss you understand me! Now we have to speed up our plans.” He poured in a new glass more whisky. “Is she awake already?”

“Yes, uncle Vick. I just checked her just a few minutes ago.”  He was starting to regret this, he thought it would be fun; all he wanted was to scare her and him a little. That’s why he had called them and told them to follow her. Sure his anger made him tell them to grab them and give them a scare. But, now it was getting serious, seeing his uncle get angry and almost kill Mike for listening to his orders made him realize that his uncle wasn’t only looking to scare Amber’s parents but eventually kill one of them or all… As much as he hated Amber and her choices he couldn’t kill her nor could he witness a murder. He snapped out of his thoughts when he heard his uncle call his name. What had he gotten himself into?

“Idiot you started this so take the girls picture with her phone and send to her father! Tell him he better not try anything stupid or she dies!” he handed him the phone and followed him to the room where Amber lay.

She heard a door open and quickly screamed, “HELP, please get me out of here!” She felt someone in the room really close to her and then she heard the sound of his camera phone. “Please, let me go. I haven’t done anything to deserve this.” She then felt a familiar touch… “Ricky?”

“No, but your close he is after all my nephew. So is Mike treating you ok?” said Victor as he leaned close to her face. “You are just as pretty as your mom was back then. Man she was one of the prettiest girls in my church. I was so happy when I learned she liked me. Even happier I became when she accepted me as her boyfriend. Everything was great I loved her! I tried to always keep her happy. That was my only mistake you know. Because if I wouldn’t of done that your mother wouldn’t of traded me for your infamous father! I trusted her that’s where men go wrong. Never trust women… thank god I got that through Ricky…. If not he would end up like me…? But enough about that - the good thing is that now I have a chance to get my revenge. Looking at you so close now, never mind you have some of your father’s features. It’s revoking to see that you have his features. Don’t be scared Amber Jade Fernandez McLean, God your mother has no shame naming you like that. I won’t hurt you…yet.” He kissed her on the cheek and walked out the room followed by his gang.
