Chapter 6
Pamela
couldn’t believe it, it was three in the morning and she was still talking to
Alex.
She got the
feeling he was happy about being a father, but that’s what she wanted for him
to accept her right? Yes, then why was she having difficulties in answering the
questions he had about his daughter? Was she jealous and being overprotective
about her? No, she sighed and looked around the massive living room she was
scared of loosing her because of him. What if she liked him more than her?
Would she leave her and come to live with him? Or, after explaining to her the
whole story, would she realize how much of a coward her mother was and choose
not to be with her anymore? Those questions kept bugging her in her head. As
much as she liked the idea of Amber finally meeting her father; she felt
scared. What if he took her away from her, with all the money he has he could
hire the best lawyer in the world to take Amber away from her. The MONEY, what
if Amber becomes to attached to his money that she forgets who she is inside.
Money could do those kind of things to you and knowing Alex the way she did for
sure he was going to fill her with many expensive gifts. She was interrupted by Alex coming back with
two cups of coffee in his hands. She smiled at him and grabbed the cup from his
hands making contact with them; she felt shivers and butterflies in her
stomach. She looked down fast and took a sip of her coffee hoping he didn’t
notice what had happened.
“It’s no
white chocolate mocha from Starbucks, but it’s nice and warm with plenty of
caffeine to keep us awake,” said Alex as he sat down in the couch in front of
her. He couldn’t believe she was there with him after such a long time. Not
only that, he had a child with her, all of a sudden his memory brought back all
the reasons why he had fallen for her years ago. He stared at her as she took a
sip of her coffee; she still did that noise when she sipped a drink. He
couldn’t help it and giggled as he watched her.
“What,”
asked Pamela as she put her cup down on the coffee table? He remembered what
kind of coffee she liked from Starbucks?
“Nothing
really, just that you haven’t changed you still make that funny noise when you
drink something,” said Alex as he put down his cup too.
Pamela was
taken by surprise; she remembered how he used to make fun of her for it. She
smiled at him, “well, I don’t know what you’re talking about but we need to
continue with our conversation,” said Pamela as she slouched on the couch.
“Yeah,
you’re right”, said Alex as he set in a more comfortable position. “Pam, I
think you deserve and apology on my part too.”
“You don’t
have to apologize Alex, I have fault in this too because I could’ve of stopped
you and I didn’t. Y…” she was stopped from talking by Alex’s finger on her
mouth.
“I haven’t
finished, let me finish ok just like I waited for you to tell me everything.”
He removed his finger and sat back down, “like I was saying, I was being
greedy, selfish and everything related to those words. I just fell for you
Pamela like you told me today there was something about you that intrigued me,
you were different to all the girls I had dated. Remember the first time I met
you at the newspaper? Well when I first saw you come in that day I was like
wow, there is something about this girl that I like and it turned out true. I
instantly felt comfortable around you and the guys did too, something that
rarely happened especially with fans. I just started to envy what you and
Victor had I guess. What I am trying to say is that I am deeply sorry for what
happened I was the one that started the whole thing, I’ve could of stopped but
I didn’t. Some how in my stupid mind I thought that you would leave him and
runaway with me to be with me… I would of married you Pam.” he looked at her as
he finished his words he felt sad for her in those few hours he was able to see
and find out how much that night ruined her life.
Pamela was
speechless and was caught out of words she just stared into his brown eyes and
for an instant she thought she still had feelings for him. She quickly looked
down and said, “Look it’s both our fault ok?” Listening to his apology made her
feel a little better maybe she was wrong to think he would not accept her
apology and the fact that he had a daughter. “So do you have anymore questions?”
asked Pamela as she looked toward a hall trying to avoid his stare.
“Yeah, when
can I see her?” asked Alex as he drank more of his coffee…
