"How is he?" I asked the doctor. All of us were at the hospital waiting
for the news on Josh. Dawn found him in the bathroom bleeding and unconscious
and screamed. I came to see what happened and I nearly fell over. It was
horrible seeing him like that.
"He's going to be just fine. He has a cut on the middle of his back, it's
not serious but it's deep enough to leave a scar. He has several bruises but
he'll be completely fine in about 2 days, 3 days at the most."
"Thank you," I said and then went back to the waiting area. My Dad
seemed like he was really bored and didn't care at all. My Mom on the other
hand was sitting there nervously, so was Dawn.
"Is he OK?" My Mom, Hannah, asked.
"He's going to be fine," I smiled at her.
"Thank goodness," she sighed in relief. My dad rolled his eyes and
said, "I guess I didn't hurt him good enough."
I wanted to yell at him for that one, I could tell my Mom and Dawn did too, but
we knew better. I just clenched my fists and sat down next to Dawn praying that
Josh would be out of the hospital soon.
February 2000
"Josh! It's in 2 weeks! 2 weeks! What am I gonna wear when I see them? You
have to take me shopping and I have to get some new clothes OK?" I asked
sitting on his bed. He was reading a magazine with headphones on his head. As
you can see he's OK! He got to go home 3 days after he got hurt. Everything is
fine now thank goodness.
He looked up from the magazine and chuckled lightly. I have a feeling he wasn't
even listening to me.
"Josho! Come on! Will you listen to me?" I exclaimed pulling his
headphones off his head.
"I am listening, I'm just not answering you," he laughed. I crossed
my arms and stuck out my bottom lip.
"Mel of course I'll take you shopping," he laughed lightly.
"It'll be weird but it's cool but still! Why can't you take Dawn?"
"Because!"
"Because?" he asked.
"I don't know, she's just not...you?" I laughed.
"But I'm a guy! Guys don't usually shop! Girls do and Dawn is a
girl!"
"So? You're just more fun to be around," I shrugged.
"Yeah OK," he said.
"Will you? Please please please!"
"I said I would already so chill girl," he chuckled.
"Thank you!" I exclaimed and then flung my arms around his neck
hugging him.
"Woah, thanks for the hug Sis," he laughed.
"No problem," I smiled and then got up to go to my room. I guess you
could say I was excited to meet the Backstreet Boys. Real excited. I can't
wait! I have to fly down to Florida in March and I get to meet them. I'm
nervous out of my mind but I'm sure things will go well. I don't exactly know
what we're going to be doing, The Make a Wish Foundation told me it was going
to be a surprise at what we do and everything. Being the curious and impatient
one that I am I'm going nuts trying to figure out what we will be doing. I
guess I'll find out soon, my dreams are about to come true and I couldn't believe
it.
