Chapter 1
"We got another no name fan letter!"
Howie and AJ looked up form the books they were reading when Kevin walked in the
room. He began opening the letter. Brian came up behind and glanced nervously
over his shoulder.
"Kev, do you think you should open that?” He asked. “Remember last time.
We got a death threat! I don't know about you but it scared the hell out of
me."
Suddenly Nick snuck up behind Brian. With a loud whoop he grabbed his
shoulders. Brian let out a terrified yelp.
"Nick you dumbass!"He growled."Are you trying to kill
me!?"
He got no answer from Nick, who was rolling on the floor laughing. Brian stalked
past Kevin and flopped down next to Howie. He looked at Brian sympathetically.
"What's it say?" Nick asked after regaining himself.
"It's a poem."Kevin began to recite it,
"Such pretty faces, nice to look at.
Such great lives, perfect to scartch.
One by one you will die.
Leaving very few to cry."
Everyone's faces paled. Brian started mummbling something that sounded like
'I told you so'. A silence settled over the hotel room.
"Hey look."Kevin's voice snapped through the tension."There's a
picture inside. It's of all of us and...oh my god!"
He dropped the picture.Everyone watched it slowly flutter to the ground.Howie
was the first to dare pick it up. Kevin went to grab it but was to late.
Howie's face paled to a snow white.
"Me?"he choked."Why is my face circled? This is a joke right?
Tell me this is a joke!"
"I'm afraid we can't say that."AJ finally spoke up."At least not
for sure."
Brian took the picture from Howie and looked at it. The deep scratched circle
surronded Howie's face, frozen in time.His smile seemed to be mocking them.
"Damn it."He mummbled."Howie, tommorrow talk to your bodygaurd
about extra security."
"What about tonight?"Howie whimpered.
"You're rooming with me!"AJ gloated."Noone will dare touch
you."
Kevin rolled his eyes. He patted Howie's shoulder reassuringly.
"We'll all keep tabs on you."He said."Nothing is going to happen
to you."
"Thanks guys."Howie sighed."I think I'm going to go my room and
rest."
As if on cue, AJ flew up from his seat. He practically skipped after Howie.
"For the next twenty four hours we are attahced at the hips!"He
annouced.
Howie groaned."That damn letter had two curses!"
Despite the tension in the room, all the boys shared in a good laugh.
