Chapter 8
Leah sat in the living room flicking through the channels. Nothing
was on.
"duh,
duh head its a Sunday" she said to herself. She was bored out of her mind.
Aj was at the studio and he would be there most of the day. She tried calling
Michael but all she got was his machine. She even paged him but he hadn't
called back and that was two hours ago. She sunk lower into the couch. The
phone rang and she rushed to answer it hoping it was Michael.
"hello?"
"hey
baby"
"Michael"
Leah said smiling "where have you been i've been trying to call you all
day"
"i've
been a little busy"
"to
busy to call me?"Leah asked as she sat back down pulling her legs under
her.
"never.
I called you didn't I" Leah smiled
"yeah
you did"

so whats up"

miss you thats what"
"I
missed you too"
"so
can you come over?"
"no
I can't baby i have to get back to work"
"oh"Leah
said her smile faiding into a frown.
"don't
frown baby i'll see you soon I promise"

talk to you later. oh and Leah"

"I
Love You" Michael said then hung up. Leah sat there with the phone still
in her hand. It rung and she jumped.
"uhh
hello"

Leah what you doing" Aj asked
"nothing
bored out of my mind"
"HA!!
well i got some movies and i'm gonna stop and get pizza on the way home.
ka"
"yeah
hurry i'm starving"
"yeah
yeah yeah" Aj said as they hung up the phone.

"Nick
hurry up or i'm leaving without you" Mel said holding teh door open. Nick
ran down teh steps in just his swim trunks and a pair of adidas flip flops.
"well
its about time" Mel said. Nick gave mel on of his famouse smirks and ran
to his Durango and go tin. He started to honk the horn uncontrolably. Mel ran
to the passenger side and tossed her bag in the back. Nick had woken her up
from a very good nap and tole her to get her swin suit and stuff cause they
were going to the beach.What she didn't understand is why they were driving to
the beach when the beach was right behind Nicks house.
"the
waves are better the farther down u go" was Nicks response. They arrived
at the beach and mel grabbed her bag out the back while Nick got the cooler.
They walked down the bech searching for the perfect spot.
"over
there" Nick pointed to a little spot away from most of the people on the
beach. A group of people were playing volly ball and some were playing with a
frisbee. Nick sat the cooler down and put down his towel. Mel sat down her
towel and took off his shorts and jacket to reveal a green two piece bikini.
Nick looked at Mel and turned away quickly. Mel looked at Nick and grinned. She
sat down and reached for her bag. She opened it and took out her sun block
lotion. She put some on her hands and rubbed it on her legs. Nick watched as
she started to lotion her arms, her neck and spot between her breast.
"Nick
can you put this on my back?"Mel asked holding up the lotion.
"sure"
Nick took the bottle and Mel turned around. Nick put some lotion on his hands
and rubbed them together then he put it on Mels back going in little circles
then in big circles.
"ka
your done" Nick said. Nick took the lotion and did the same putting it on
his legs arms and chest.
"mel
can you" Nick asked holding up the lotion and turning his back to you. Mel
took the lotion and put some on her hands then putting it on Nick's back.
"alright
your all done"
"great
now lets go" Nick said jumping up and grabbing Mels hand and running
towards the water.

it's about time" Leah said as Aj walked in the house carrying a pizza pox
and a blockbuster bag in his mouth.

little help" he mumbled. Leah got up and walked over to him taking the bag
out of his mouth. She walked back over to the sofa and sat down. She took the
movies out the bag and looked at them.
"pulp
fiction..ohh Freddie" Leah gasp looking at the Shes all that tape.
"I
remember you saying that you liked him" Aj said sitting down on the sofa
and opening the pizza box. Leah put the movie in and grabbed the remote. She
sat back down and grabbed a piece of pizza.

what you said was "hes soo hott and the best dam actor there is and that
Sarah wasn't enough woman for him and that he needed to come a find you"
Aj said mocking Leah. Leah started laughing.
"you
remember that? that was like soo long ago" Aj swallowed his pizza

Leah smiled and stood up.
"i'm
going to get a soda you want one?"
"yep"
"ka"
Leah walked into the kitchen and grabbed two cokes out the fridge and walked
back in the room. She handed a can to aj and sat down.

i hate you Carter" Mel yelled. She had been dunked by Nick for the 7th and
final time.
"aww
come on its not that bad" Nick giggled as he followed Mel back to their
spot.

ok i'm sorry" Nick said" forgive me" he said poking out his
bottem lip.

Mel said. Nick stood up and put his hands on his hips.

Nick picked Mel up and swung her over his shoudler and walked down to teh
water. He walked till the water was up to his kneese.

me now?"he asked

yelled
"ok
i guess this will be the 8th time" Nick said he then tossed Mel into the
water. When she surfaced Mel glared at Nick.

are deader than dead" she screamed charging at him.
"AHHHH!!"
Nick screamed. Nick saw Mel go under the water but she didn't ocme back up.
"Mel"
he called "Meeell" he called again. Something grabbed his leg and
Nick went under. Mel jumped up.
"HAHAHAH
I got ya. i'm bad i'm soo bad" Mel sang she did a little dance in the
water.

suck Mel"
"yeah
but you love me anyway" Mel said moving the hair that had stuck to Nicks
forehead. They walked out the water and back over to their towels. Nick reached
in the cooler and handed Mel and can of sprite.
"aww
hunny you shouldn't have"

up" Nick said as Mel laughed

a man said stepping in front of Nick and Mel.
"yeah"
"would
you like to play some V-Ball two of our people just left so were short two
people?" he asked Nick and Mel exchanged looks and nodded
"sure"

the man walked back over to the net and Mel and Nick stood up. They walked over
to the group of people.
"hi"

guys ready to play some V-Ball" the man shouted. Everyone cheered and the
ball was served.

a chick flik" AJ said stopping the tape and standing up.

a chick flick" Aj repeated walking into the kitchen.

up" Leah said followiong him into the kitchen

jumping up on the cabinet.

do i waste my time" LEah said throwing her hands up in frustration. She
walked out the kitchen and down the steps to the billiards room. She picked up
a stick and waited for Aj to show his face. He did and she tossed one at him.

i feel a bet coming on" Leah nodded

I win you agree that its not a chick flick, and you win"

said tossing the ball racker to Aj.

that was fun" Mel said as her and Nick packed up their things. It was
gonna get dark soon and most of the people had left already.

me Mr" Nick looked down to see a little girl tuggin on his shorts

yes I am and who might you be" Nick said stooping down so that he was eye
level with her.

the little girl replied

I have your autograph please" she said holding up a piece of paper and pen

you make it out o my sister Stephanie she thinks your the hottest guy
ever" Nick blushed and Mel laughed. The little girl looked at Mel and
smiled.

you go sweety" Nick gave the paper and pen back to her.

I have a hug" Nick asked. She smiled and wrapped her little arms around
Nicks neck. She looked at Mel then broke away from Nick.

she is" Nick said. The little girl ran off running to someone that seemed
to be her mother.

was sweet" Mel said getting into Nicks Durango

we do and th elast one up is a rotten egg" Aj said and jumped off the
table and running up the steps.

fair you cheated" Leah yelled running after him. She walked into the
living room to find Aj laying on the couch" She stood infront of him with
her hands on her hips.

this in" Aj said handing her the movie. Leah took the movie and rolled her
eyes. She wlaked over to the VCR and put the movie in. She wlaked back over to
Aj. Aj sat up while Leah sat down and layed his head on her lap.
"ahh
this is the life"

up and watch the movie" Haflway through the movie Aj sat up.

I ask you a question?"

up with you and Michael?"

were pretty serious why?"

wondering" Aj said. He layed his head back down on Leah's lap and starred
at the TV.

coming" Mel said walking down the steos in her pajamas and a blanket. Nick
was already in his pajamas and waiting for Mel. Mel sat down next to Nick and
put the blanket down.
"ok
now watch this I love this part" Nick gushed looking at the TV. Mel
watched the Tv and found nothing funny but Nick did and fell over laughing.
When he finally composed himself he looked over at Mel.

Mel said hugging Nick and laying her head on his shoulder. Leaving him would be
the hardest thing. How could she go back to that town and face Max without Nick
there to support her and tell her that everything will be ok. She looked up and
kissed Nicks cheek.
