Prologue
Mel
sat in her bed as the memories of the night before played like a never ending
movie in her mind that was constantly on rewind. She shook her head as if doing
so would stop the movie. She looked at the picture of Max in her hand and
started to rip into into itty bitty pieces. She added the ripped pieces to the
growing pile in her trash can beside her bed. The phone started to ring and she
picked it up regretting it when she heard his voice.
"baby
please just let me explain"
"No
you have nothing to say that I want to hear just come and get your shit befrore
I toss it out" Mel yelled and hung up the phone. She grabbed a tissue from
the box on her lap and wiped her nose. She picked the phone and started dialing
numbers.
"Yo
dud your phones ringing" Aj yelled to Nick who was in teh kitchen.
"dude
your right there get it" Nick yelled back
"but
it's so far away" Aj said reaching for the cordless phone that was on the
table infront of him.
"pick
up the phone!!"Nick yelled
"fine
must you yell" Aj laughed and picked up the phone. clicking it on he put
it up to his ear.
"bone
speaking"
"hello
is Nick there"
"yeah
who may I tell is calling"
"Mel"
"oh
hey Mel sup"
"hey
not to much I just really need to talk to Nick right now"
"ka
hold on a sec" Aj got up from the couch and walked into the kitchen.
"Mel"he
said handing Nick the phone Nick took the phone and put it up to his hear.

melly sup"
"Nicky"
Mel sniffed
"whats
wrong?"Nick asked. Aj pointed towards the door and mouthed the words i'm
leaving. Nick nodded and aj walked out.
"I
just wanted to talk to you" Mel sniffed
"Mel
what's wrong?"Nick asked again. there was a pause adn Mel sniffed
again."what did he do this time?" Nick asked.
"he
cheated on me"
"again?"Nick
asked. He heard Mel choke back a cry and mentally slapped himself
"Mel
i'm sorry but why do you put with his shit when you know how he is"

love him Nick"
"I
don't think he loves you if he keeps treating you like this"

"then
why don't you leave him?"
"I
did" Mel said
"ohh"
"but
it's hard Nick he keeps calling wanting to apologise but"
"come
down here"
"what?"Mel
asked
"I
want you to come live with me for a while till you get together a bit"
"no
Nick I can't"
"yes
you can and you will" Nick said
"Nick"

whinned. Mel laughed and a for a second she forgot all about Max.
"fine
but i can't stay long just a week or two"
"yeah
yeah sure sure" Nick said
"Nicky?"
"yeah"
"thank
you"
"for
what?"
"being
my bestest friend in the whole wide world"
"always"
Nick replied.
"alright
i'm gonna book the plane you just get your butt on it"
"yes
sir" Mel said giving Nick a salute even tho he couldnt see it.
"
K well Mel im gonna get going im tired and plus tomorrow we have a
meeting" Nick said as he groaned.
"
K...hey is it ok with you if a i bring a friend?" Mel asked as she twirled
the phone cord around her index finger.
"
Yeah sure its kool ill talk to you tomorrow and tell you when your flight is
ok?" Nick asked.
"
Ok kool bye bye Nickerz" Mel said as they both laughed.
"
Bye Mellyz" Nick said as they both hung up. Mel picked up her phone again
and dialed her friend Leah's number. It rang a few times before anyone
answered.
"
hello?" Leah said.
"
hey Leah how would you like to go to Florida with me for a week or two?"
Mel asked.
"
Yeah that would be kool any special occasion?" Leah asked.
"
No just visiting some old friends down there and plus we both need a
VACATION" Mel said as Leah laughed.
"
yeah that is true, whens the flight?" Leah asked.
"
Dont know yet but ill call you tomorrow and tell ya ok?"
"
Sure thats good. I got to finish up some stuff so ill talk to you
tomorrow"Leah said.
"
Ok bye" Mel said as she untangled her fingers from the cord.
"
Bye mel" Leah said as they both hung up.
