Chapter 5

“Hey Frack!  How’s it going?”

“Could be better I answered, but how am I talking to you?, you passed away a few months ago!”

“Nah, what have I told you Frack, the body dies, not the soul,” Brian’s words started to sink in, but then-

I was jerked out of sleep by my alarm clock.  Each dream seemed to be more real then the last, and Brian’s touch seemed to never fade, even now, as I lay awake.  What Brian had said in his dream, those words, would be forever glued in his mind, and now he lay thinking about what Brian had said.  Nah, what have I told you Frack, the body dies, not the soul”….  and Brian’s words played like a broken record in his mind, until sleep pulled him in.

The streets seemed a little more empty then ever before, my hands buried in my pockets and my blonde hair blowing in the soft breeze that accompanied me, I was actually learning to get use to it.  Nick, the breeze wheezed lightly, Nick, it almost seemed urgent, and surprisingly like someone I knew but the name and the voice weren’t connecting… wait, was I crazy?, I had a breeze that on the hot, humid, summer days of Florida no one else felt, and better yet it knew how to say my freaking name!  Therapy was totally becoming an option for me by this point, I had to be going crazy, wind didn’t talk that was insane and if I told a psychiatrist that the wind talked to me he would probably order me to the insane asylum.  I can imagine it now “ Hey Doc!  See there’s this little breeze that  keeps following me, and no one else can feel it, I’ve actually asked a couple people if they could!  And you wanna know the best part? It knows how to say my name!  cool huh?  and his response “Dear God, what is wrong with you boy, to the insane asylum with ya!”  The thought almost made me laugh, almost!  I shook the feeling to laugh, bubbling in side me, off when the breeze finally seemed to have left.

“Hello?”  A.J. sounded sort of surprised, we hadn’t really talked much since the incident.

“Hey I said sounding casual.  So what’s up with you?”

“Umm, nothing, how bout you?”

“Nothing too much, do you think we might could hang out today?…if your not busy that is.”

“Sure, what’cha wanna do?”

“Lets go get some food somewhere and then we can just head on back to our own places if ya wanna.”

“Sure, see ya soon.  Where at though?”

“How about Pizza Inn?”

“Kay, see ya there.”

“Later.”

The call ended on an odd note it seemed, we hadn’t talked in months, that’s is not including occasional days we were all in the studio and here we were ready to go eat like everything was normal again.
