I walked into Nick’s room and saw him looking at the TV. He looked at me, as I got to his bed and
smiled.
“Hey, Bri,” Nick said.
“Hey, how are you?” I asked as he nodded.
“As good as I could ever be,” Nick said.
“That’s good,” I said as I sat down in the chair that was by the
bed.
“Bri , I was thinking…” Nick said as I looked at him.
“Yeah?” I asked.
“Maybe when Kev and I get out of the hospital and get better, we
could have a reunion concert or something” Nick said.
“I thought you didn’t want to be in the group anymore,” I said as
I looked at TV. “The Simpsons” was on.
“I know, but I was thinking that I want to come back,” Nick said.
“We’ll see with how everything goes,“ I said, as Nick nodded, and
Dr. Martinez walked into the room.
“Good news, Mr. Carter. You
can be discharged as soon as we run some more tests on you, so you could fill
out the papers for the discharge now, as I take a blood sample, and by the time
you’re done, the results should be back,” Dr. Martinez said, as he handed Nick
a few papers, and Nick smiled.
“Thank you, Dr. Martinez,” Nick said as Dr. Martinez nodded and
put a rubber tie around Nick’s arm and stuck the needle into Nick’s arm.
The needle filled up with blood, as Dr. Martinez untied the rubber
tie. He took the needle out of Nick’s
arm and started to walk out, but suddenly turned around.
“Mr. Richardson will also be discharged after a few more tests,”
Dr. Martinez said, as I nodded, and he walked out of the room.
We turned our attention back to the basketball game as Nick’s idea
of a reunion tour ran through my mind.
