Chapter

Nick jerked awake as he felt ice cold water come in contact with his
skin. He cringed as he slowly opened his eyes and the sight before him gave him
chills. The three murderers were standing beside the bed with sly grins on
their faces. Nick took in a big gulp of air as he waited for the blows he
expected to come. He closed his eyes as he seen the taller of the three men
reach behind his back but forced them open again as he was smacked in the face
and told by a voice that belonged to Charlie to keep his eyes open. Nick
quietly obeyed and opened his eyes as he mentally braced himself for the blows
to his stomach and face which he had come accustomed to. To his surprise, the
man pulled out Brian's wallet and sat down in the chair beside the bed.
"Does this mean anything to you blondie?" asked the man as he shoved
the wallet under Nick's nose. Nick fought to keep the tears from escaping as he
shook his head and hoped the man would believe him and leave him and his
friends alone. The man didn't seem to like to take "No" as an answer
and delivered a punch to Nick's upper chest area. Nick tried to curl up and
escape the pain out of reflex but where he was tied down he couldn't move very
well and he just lay on the bed waiting for the pain to pass. After a few moments,
the pain subsided enough to where Nick could take in a breath. He heard the
three men laugh and felt deep intense hate rise from deep within him. He hoped
and prayed the rest of the guys would discover he was missing and call the cops
to search for him. Nick was again smacked in the face and told to look at
Charlie. He painfully moved his head to his right to face Charlie as the men
again laughed at his pain. Charlie opened up Brian's wallet and took out the
driver's license, looking at it closely. "So this guys name is Brian
Thomas Littrell and he is from Kentucky, I know this isn't you kid, what is
your name?" asked Charlie in a calm voice. Nick swallowed hard to try and
ease the pain of his dry throat and quietly spoke, "Nick Carter, sir"
Charlie then got in Nick's face as he pulled out a picture from Brian's wallet
and spoke in an angry voice, "You better agree to tell us everything or
your ass will be in a world of trouble, got it kid?" Nick's deep blue eyes
widened in shock and he frantically started shaking his head back and forth as
if his life depended on it, he knew he couldn't tell anything he saw and he
knew the lives of his friends meant more than his own life. Charlie laughed and
said, "Well kid guess we have to go to plan B now, you aren't gonna like
this one kid. We are gonna beat you shitless and leave your body out somewhere
where the police can easily discover you and when they discover your body and
search for identification, they will find Brian's wallet in your pocket and
call them and they will come to the hospital and we will be waiting for them
and as soon as your little buddy Brian is alone we take him. So you better look
closely at this picture kid, this is the last time you will ever see any of the
people in it, especially your friend Brian." Charlie grinned as he shoved
the picture of the whole group in Nick's face. Nick knew he shouldn't look at
the picture but he felt he needed to and he stared at the picture until it
became blurry from the tears in his eyes. When Charlie seen he got a response
out of Nick, he turned to the other two guys and said, "Adam, Tom, go in
the storage room and get the tools we need to do this job right, ok?" The
two other men nodded and turned swiftly and made their way to the storage area.
Charlie looked at Nick as Nick cried for everything he had lost. He grinned
knowing his actions would bring pain to more than one person. He turned his
head quickly as he heard two pairs of approaching footsteps. He grinned and
told the two other men to put the items on the floor. He picked a baseball bat
off of the floor and gave it a practice swing before asking Adam and Tom to
untie Nick. They obediently untied Nick and Charlie lifted Nick into the
sitting position and tapped him on the shoulder causing Nick to look into his
face. Charlie looked into Nick's innocent and fear filled blue eyes as he asked
him a calm voice, "Any last words kid?" Nick shook his head sadly and
the last thing he remembered seeing was a baseball bat coming for his head, and
all went black.
