Chapter
30
Nick pulled
the green Camaro into the open parking place that was in the parking lot
closest to the beach. He then put it into park and took the keys out of
the ignition as he pulled his sunglasses down over his tired blue eyes.
He got out of the car and pushed a button on the keyring to activate the alarm
system and made his way towards the warm sand of the beach as he followed the
sound of the waves crashing on the rocks. He closed his eyes for a moment
and let the warm breeze blow gently through his short blonde hair and he let
out a small sigh as he opened his eyes again to view the scarcely populated
beach.
He let out a
sigh of relief as he scouted the beach looking for the perfect place to sit and
think. He found the perfect secluded spot and took his shoes and socks
off and walked quickly over the spot that was nearby and sank into the soft,
warm sand as he sat down. He pushed his sunglasses on top of his head and
took in the site of all the things going on at the beach. He saw a
college aged girl walking her dog on the beach and a group of college students
playing volleyball.
Watching
everyone having fun made Nick feel depressed so he got up and shook the sand
from his clothes as he walked a path he had walked moments before back to the
parking lot. He deactivated the alarm system and climbed in the now warm
Camaro and shut the door, leaning his head on the steering wheel as he let out
all of his emotions.
It was then he came to the decision that he
should talk to his family about this. Once he composed himself enough to
drive, Nick started the car and drove out the of the parking lot back to his
family's house, now finally feeling ready to explain what had happened.

Brian kept
looking from person to person waiting for them to answer him. He looked
over towards his brother and cousins and saw his brother push Kevin forward and
heard Kevin mumble a "Thanks a lot Harold, make me do the dirty work"
as he made his way to Brian's bedside. Kevin knelt down beside the bed
and took Brian's hand in his as he cleared his throat and looked at
Brian. "I don't know how to tell you this Bri, but Nick said it was
too much for him to handle and he left shortly after you came here. We
haven't seen him since."
Brian looked
at Kevin and to everyone's surprise he started to weakly laugh "Ha Ha Kev,
very funny. Now tell me the truth.Where is Frack at?" said Brian
with a small smile on his face. He again saw the occupants of the room
keep looking at each other with sadness and nervousness apparent in their eyes,
and it was then that Brian realized that Kevin wasn't kidding, and the smile on
his face left as quickly as it came, and his eyes filled with tears.
There was a few moments of silence as everyone nervously waited for what
Brian's reaction to the news would be as they realized that he now knew that
Kevin's words were true.
