Part 4 By Amy
"Brian! Brian, come up, wake up!" Howie pleaded placing
his hands on the young man's shoulders gently shaking him from side to side.
"Urrr.." Brian groaned, his uneasy sleep became
meaningless as he opened his eyes still feeling fatigued.
Howie returned to his seat. "Sorry to wake you, but we're
landing soon."
Brian tilted his head to see AJ and Nick fighting over the winner
of the poker game and Kevin massaging his temples. He raised an eyebrow.
"Kev, you okay, cuz?"
Kevin lifted his head. "Yeah, I'll be all right. I'm just not
feeling very well," he answered his voice becoming a whisper.
"Oh, you want some Advil or something?"
His older man ran a hand over his pale face. "No, thanks,
Bri. I just need to rest when we get to the hotel, that's all."
Brian immediately felt childish for dwelling over his fatigue as
he realized his cousin truly wasn't feeling well. He was somewhat surprised-
Kevin hardly ever became ill. Nothing more serious than that of an average
cold.
Howie adjusted his seatbelt preparing for the landing.
"What's up with you two? Kev's as sick as a dog and, Rok, you look
exhausted. Something up?" Kevin turned to his cousin. "You okay?
Howie's right- you did sleep a lot."
'Sleep'? Brian thought to himself- he only wished. He shook his
head. "Oh, come on, cuz, before you start worrying about me-you better
take a long look in the mirror. You look like death."
"I love you, too, Bri," Kevin added sarcastically.
The co-pilot came over the speakers. "Please be sure your
seats are in their upright position and your safety belts are tightly fastened.
Thank you, and enjoy your stay."
Nick fastened his belt quickly. "If I should die before I
wake....."
AJ covered his ears. "Give it a rest, Nick!"
