Nick's funeral was the next day. Brian was still in the hospital so he
couldn't go. The other three guys sang "End of the Road" at the funeral,
but they could barely get through it without crying.

A week later, Brian was doing great, physically. There were no
complications. Dr. Benson told him he could go home the next day. But mentally,
he was not doing so good. He couldn't get over Nick's death. He wasn't blaming
himself anymore. But he wasn't accepting it. Nick was his best friend. He had
been there for Brian through everything. And now he was gone.

The next morning, Brian's parents came to pick him up from the
hospital. They were flying home to Kentucky that afternoon, and Brian was
coming with them. They thought he needed to get away from Florida for awhile,
and he had agreed.
They drove Brian back to his house so he could pack. Then they had
lunch and headed to the airport.

Brian stayed in Kentucky for a few weeks. Leighanne wrapped up her
movie and came to stay with him. She stayed a week, and then they flew back to
Orlando together. Their wedding was supposed to be that week, but they had
pushed it back another month to August. Brian hoped it would be the last time
he would have to reschedule it.
