Chapter 13

The next morning, after a restless sleep, Katelyn woke up around 9:00. Jennie was still sound asleep. That was typical. Katelyn knew that Jennie loved to sleep in late and could sleep through practically anything.

Katelyn climbed out of bed and headed into the bathroom. She took a shower and got dressed.

By the time she came out of the bathroom, Jennie had woken up. She rubbed her eyes and looked sleepily at Katelyn. "What time is it?" she asked.

"It's almost 9:30," Katelyn said.

"Oh," Jennie said groggily. She pulled herself out of bed and staggered into the bathroom.

While Jennie was in the bathroom, Katelyn picked up and packed all of her things. She made sure she hid her autograph at the bottom of her purse. She didn't want her mother to find it.

When Jennie came out of the bathroom, she was cleaned up and dressed and finally looked awake.

"What time are we leaving?" she asked Katelyn.

"Eleven," Katelyn replied.

The girls finished packing and went downstairs for breakfast. They grabbed some donuts and orange juice and went back up to their room to eat.

After breakfast, it was going on 10:30. The girls walked around the room and made sure they had all of their things. Then they just sat around and talked until eleven, when they heard a knock at their door.

Katelyn jumped up and went to open the door. It was Ron, their limo driver.

"Are you two all ready?" he asked.

"Yup," Jennie replied, grabbing her bag and purse from her bed. Ron took both of their bags and led them downstairs, where they checked out of the hotel and went out to the limo.

They returned to Cincinnati later that afternoon. When the limo pulled into the parking lot at the radio station, where Jennie's car was still parked, Katelyn felt sick to her stomach. The fun was over, and soon, she would be at home, facing her mother.

Ron stopped the car and helped Jennie and Katelyn out. They both thanked him graciously, then grabbed their bags and headed to Jennie's car.

"Do you want to stop for a late lunch before I drop you off?" Jennie asked.
"Sure," Katelyn said. She wasn't really hungry, but she would do anything to put off going home for as long as possible.

They got in Jennie's car and headed to the nearest McDonald's. Jennie ordered her favorite, a Quarter Pounder with Cheese, medium fries, and a Diet Coke. Katelyn got her usual as well, a six piece Chicken McNuggets with Sweet and Sour sauce, a medium fries, and a Sprite. But she just picked at her food. She was too nervous to have much of an appetite.

Half an hour later, they were back on the road, and Katelyn was only minutes away from facing her worst nightmare, her mother.
