Chapter
28
Supper was
awkward. Brian reluctantly told his father about his and Leighanne's break-up.
Katelyn could tell Harold was not too pleased, but he didn't say much, except
for that he didn't want his son in a bad marriage. Everyone knew this shocking
news would just take some time to settle in.
Meanwhile,
Brian and Katelyn were no longer concerned about the cancelled wedding, but
about each other. They kept glancing up at each other and smiling during
dinner.
It all felt
like a dream come true to Katelyn. She remembered those days, months ago, when
she would lie on her bed, listening to her Bsb CDs and daydreaming about
getting to meet the Boys and leaving home. Now, both of those dreams had come
true, and she and Brian were going to have a relationship. Everything would
soon be perfect, as soon as everyone got over Brian and Leighanne's big
break-up.

2 months later
November had
just begun. Katelyn was now a senior at Tates Creek High. She liked her new
school and had made some friends. But Brian, along with the rest of the
Backstreet Boys, had gone on tour to promote their new album, which had been
released earlier that fall. Brian had arranged it so they would be in Lexington
during Thanksgiving. That way, both he and Kevin could take a break during the
tour to have Thanksgiving dinner with their families. That was what Katelyn had
to look forward to. But after that, they still had more touring. After they
finished the U.S. and Canada tour, they would have a little while off, but then
they had to do the European tour. Katelyn missed Brian terribly already, and he
had been on tour for only a few weeks. She knew he was very busy, but he still
managed to call her everyday after she got home from school, and they would
talk for awhile.
As far as
Katelyn knew, no one knew about their secret relationship, not even Brian's
parents or the other guys. He promised that when the tour was over, if they
still liked each other so much, they would tell everyone and become an official
couple.
Katelyn didn't
know how he felt, but she knew her feelings for him would never change. She had
never been in love before, so she wasn't sure she knew how it felt. But
something told her that what she felt for Brian was love. She never told him
she loved him though because she didn't know if he felt that strongly for her
or not.
