Chapter 6

By the end of October, the album, which they had decided to call Jadeite, was over halfway done.  Most of the recording was finished, and all the girls really had left to do was write out their thank you’s, and do the photo shoot for the artwork in the album.

They hired the same photographers that had done the photos for Millennium, so they knew that the album would look good.

The main photo shoot was scheduled for a Saturday at the beginning of November.

The four girls arrived at eleven in the morning to begin the shoot, which could take a few hours.

A man named Nick Gamma was in charge of the shoot.  He ushered them all in, and they were immediately taken back to the wardrobe room to pick out the clothes they would wear for the shoot.

Since the group was called JADE, and their record was going to be called Jadeite, the main theme was green.  The set for the picture that was going to be the cover was a pale green wall with small, white, pillars that held small jadeite statues and figurines on them.  In the middle of the set was a small zebra printed couch, with a soft white rug in front of it.

After about a half an hour of deciding what they were going to wear, Jenna, Ashalyn, Elyssa, and Serena emerged in their first selection of outfits, which they would be wearing for the cover shot.

Elyssa was wearing a pair of white Capri pants, a pale green halter top, and platform white sandals.  Jenna had on a pair of black leather flares with a green halter top and chunky black sandals.  Serena was wearing a long, black skirt with a light green sleeveless shirt, and black sandals identical to Jenna’s.  Ashalyn wore a spaghetti strapped, pale green dress that was knee length and white sandals that matched Elyssa’s.

After picking their wardrobes, they got their makeup done.  When they were done in the makeup chairs, they were all decked out in makeup, including pale green eye shadow for all of them.  Their nails had been done as well and painted in light green.

Finally, it was time for the actual photos to be taken.  They all posed on the set, Jenna and Ashalyn seated on the sofa, their legs crossed, Serena posed behind it, and Elyssa was sprawled out on her stomach on the floor, her legs sticking up in the air behind her, her ankles crossed.

They changed positions a few times as the photographer snapped shots.  As he was taking pictures, Ashalyn noticed Brian, Howie, AJ, and Nick walk in.  When the photographer was finally done, he let them out for a lunch break, and they hurried over to the guys.

“Hey, what are you guys doing here?” Elyssa asked.

“We thought we’d come by and see if you wanted to go out to lunch with us,” AJ said casually.

“Sounds good,” Jenna replied almost immediately.

“Yeah, I’m starving,” Serena added.

“Me too,” Ashalyn and Elyssa agreed.  The photo shoot had been more work than they had thought, and they still had more to do after lunch.  But they were having fun, and so they really didn’t mind.
