"And
how do we do that Einstein?" Nick joked and hid his head behind Brian who
was sitting beside of him, to avoid the playful hate filled look Kevin sent in his
direction.
"I
dunno" he shrugged.
"Great
idea Kev. Couldn't have thought of a better one myself." Nick mumbled just
loud enough for everyone to hear as he kept hidden behind Brian.
Brian,
AJ, and Howie all chuckled as Kevin's eyes grew wide and his mouth quickly
closed after he couldn't think of a response.
"Smart
ass" he mumbled after a few moments causing the whole room to break out
into chuckles again.
"Glad
to see you are feeling better Frack. When you get out of this place we can go
play some basketball." Brian said. He smiled as Nick's blue eyes widened
and a grin broke out on his somewhat still pale face.
"That
is a great idea, Bri. A much better idea than Kev had." Nick said, not
passing up the opportunity to yet again pick on his oldest bandmate.
"Thanks
Nick." Brian said but quickly shut up as Kevin gave him his "you
better behave" look.
"Actually
I do have an idea" said Kevin slowly.
"Oh
wow an idea imagine that!" he heard Nick mumble, but decided to ignore it.
"How about in the morning we call a construction company and ask them what
to do?" he suggested.
He
smiled slightly as he realized his bandmates for once actually agreed with him
and sat back with a sigh in the seat he was occupying next to Nick's bed. He
sat back and watched as Brian and Nick talked quietly amongst themselves.
A
few seconds later, a soft knock was heard at the door and everyone in the room
got quiet. Dr. MacDonald entered the room and smiled softly at everyone.
"Hello
gentlemen." he said with his thick Scottish accent.
"Hi"
everyone replied.
"So
what did the tests show Doc?" AJ asked expectantly.
"Well
Mr. McLean" the doctor started "I have some good news and bad news
for you. The good news is the swelling on his brain has gone down a
considerable amount and there doesn’t' appear to be any damage. But the bad
news is he will have to remain here for a few days."
He
heard four sighs and looked up as Nick began to speak, "Well guys. I'm
alive at least. That is good news." The doctor grinned as the young man's
four friends wrapped their arms around him and gave him a large group hug.
"I
know you guys love me but you guys are squashing me with this hugging!"
Nick joked.
"It
is a great that you have such an amazing attitude Mr. Carter." said the
doctor. "That is probably one of the things that has gotten you through
this."
Nick
looked down at his blankets and blushed slightly as the guys all said
"aww" at the same time.
"And
I have some more bad news" the doctor said as he looked at his watch on
his wrist. "No it has nothing to do with Mr. Carter's condition" he
quickly added as he seen the panicked look on everyone's face. "I think it
would be best if you gentlemen went home and let Mr. Carter rest. He needs all
the rest he can get to recover quickly." the doctor said.
"Yeah
you are right doc. I didn't realize how late it was until you mentioned
it." said Kevin apologetically.
"Oh
that is alright Mr. Richardson. You all may visit Mr. Carter in the morning as
soon as you go home and get some rest and allow him to get some rest. You all
have had quiet an exciting evening."
All
the boys nodded in agreement and said "Goodnight" to Nick and exited
the room quietly behind the doctor.
"Well
I will see you all tomorrow some time" said the doctor
"Goodnight"
"Come
on guys let's go." said Kevin prepared himself for the protesting he
expected to hear from the guys. Surprised to hear none, Kevin turned around and
seen the tired faces of his three friends and chuckled to himself as he dug the
car keys out of his pocket and the guys followed him out of the hospital.

"Hey
Bri. Where you going?" asked Kevin as Brian ran up the stairs once they
got home.
"To
the balcony" Brian yelled over his shoulder as he made his way up the
stairs.
Kevin
sighed and walked up the stairs passing Howie and AJ as they made their way to
their separate rooms. "Goodnight Guys" he said "'Night"
they mumbled sleepily.
"Hey
Bri" Kevin said softly as he approached Brian who was standing on the
balcony and staring below where Nick had fell earlier.
"I'm
so glad he survived" whispered Brian
"Yeah
I agree cuz" Kevin replied.
Suddenly
Brian turned around and Kevin seen a bright light slightly reflecting off of
Brian's face and turned around and faced the ghost, this time not as scared as
before.
"Thank
you for saving both me and Kev" Brian said quietly to the ghost.
"Tomorrow we are gonna call a construction company and ask them how we can
dig up the basement and find your daughter's body." he added quietly.
Both
Brian and Kevin waiting anxiously for the ghost to do anything but in a split
second, the ghost disappeared.
