That
afternoon, Dave and Lisa were packing up the things they had brought to the
hospital for Morgan. Lisa opened the nightstand beside the bed and pulled a few
things out. She pulled a piece of paper out and looked at it. Suddenly, she
stood up and went out into the waiting room, where Brian and the others were
sitting.
"This is
for you, Brian," she said, tearfully, handing the piece of paper to Brian.
Brian's eyes
filled with tears as he saw what it was. It was a page from Morgan's Little
Mermaid coloring book. It was a picture of Ariel and Eric getting married. But
Morgan had colored Ariel's hair blonde and Eric's light brown. Brian realized
it was supposed to be Leighanne and him. He smiled, fresh tears springing to
his eyes. He turned the page over and discovered that Morgan had written
something on the back.
Dear Brian,
I'm very
sorry, but I can't be your flower girl. I really want to, but I'm going to die.
I promise I will watch your wedding from Heaven though. I hope you and
Leighanne have a nice honeymoon.

P.S. Tell
Leighanne hi for me. She is very pretty and she will make a good wife.
Brian cried
harder as he read the letter. Leighanne came over and read it. She too, began
to cry.
"She told
me that if she was grown up and I wasn't marrying you, she would want to marry
you," Leighanne told Brian. Brian put his arms around Leighanne, and they
both cried together.
