Explanation of an
MST:
MST’s are a type of fanfiction inspired
by the show Mystery Science Theater 3000, which used to be on Comedy
Central. Mystery Science Theater would
show cheesy old movies, which would be commentated by three characters. I haven’t seen it in forever, but I know one
of them was a human, and I think the other two were robots or aliens or one of
each, maybe. Anyway, they would watch
the movie and add in their own comments and make fun of it the whole time. In fanfiction, an
MST is a story within a story, where an author takes another story and writes
in other characters reading it and making fun of it.
