Chapter

Howie groggly
opened his eyes. Pain roared behind his eyes. He sighed knowing it was only the
begining of a migrane.
"Glad to see you're awake."
The deep voice brought the memories rushing back. The three men...being
kidnapped...the death threat. It was real.
"It was real." He repeated to himself.
"You should always take death threats seriously." Another man
laughed. "You know Dorough, without the long hair and beard I almost
didn't recognize you!"
"Beard?" Howie croaked. He never had a beard. Or long hair. "Who
are you?"
"Even if we told you, you wouldn't know.." A third man spoke up.
"But we can give you code names. At least you can know us by voice. Call
me....Mike."
"MIKE!" The first burst into laughter. "Alright,
I'm....Rico."
Laughter errupted from the three other men.
"This is too much." another howled. "My turn now. How
about....Clark. Better yet, Clark Kent!"
This time the laughter was defenying. How could they laugh? Howie let out a
pitaful moan. This caught the five men's attetion.
"Shut up Dorough." Rico hissed. "We can have some fun. Alright,
you last two are....Ed and Geroge."
"Not fair!" One of them whined.
Rico turned his attetion back on Howie. All Howie could see was his eyes. They
were a shade of ice blue. Just being caught in their stare was enough to make
Howie shiver.
"I just love tormenting you Dorough." he sneered. "I've wanted
to it for years! Now I have my chance to get back at all of you. I'll make sure
you guys don't get out alive."
Howie let out a quiet whimper. He saw the joy that Rico got from it and decided
not to do it again.
"We are going to drop you off, and go after the next." Rico's smile
grew larger at the obivious fear on Howie's face.
"Who are you getting next?" Howie finally found his voice.
"It will be a suprise for you too." Clark laughed from behind Rico.
"Hey, Rico. Should we blindfold him? We are almost there."
"I have a better idea." Rico smiled down at Howie. "Say
goodnight Dorough."
Before Howie could respond Rico brought his elbow down fast and hard. Howie
gasped as sharp pain ripped through his already pounding head. His vision
blurred and instead of five, ten men were laughing.
Howie was grateful when he fell into the inviting blackness.
