Max watched from the corner as Kevin the big one thanked all the
reporteres for coming. His attention turned to Nick who was laughing pretty
hard about something the skinny guy with glasses whispered to him. He was
pushed back as the reportes stumbled out the confrence room.
"guys
i'm gonna go now i promised Mel i'll come right home. shes still a little
jumpy" Nick said to the guys.
"ok
get James to walk you to your car" Kevin said
"nah
i can do it all the reporters are gone so it'll be easy for me to get to my
car" Nick said. Kevin looked weirdly at Nick and cocked his head to the
side.

don't think so"
"aww
come on Kev it's just outside its not like i'm gonna get jumped or
something" Nick whinned

let the boy go before he starts to cry" Aj said
"go
but if you get jumped don't expect us to help ya"
"yeah
yeah yeah se you guys later" Nick said as he walked down from the podium
and out the double doors walking past Max without knowing. Max kept a steady
pace behind Nick and when he steped outside he finally approaced him.

Carter" Max yelled Nick just before he got to his car thinking it was a
fan he turned around with his famous carter smile on his face. when he saw who
it was that called his name his smile changed from a smile and glare.
"you
don't know how long i've been waiting to see you" Max said as he walked
slwowly towards nick.
"Wow
he threatenes and he stalks you have all the ingrediants of a serial
killer" Nick mocked Max let out a small laugh but stopped
"now
kill thats a word i'm familiar with, very familiar with" Max said pulling
his blck sunglasses off his eyes and staring Nick in the eye. Nick saw two big
guys walk up behind max and started to get scared.
"
Cant we just talk bussiness here guys?" Nick asked as one of the Big guys
cracked his knuckles and shook his head. Nick backed up against his car and
felt the two big guys close the space around him. He felt one of the men take
his arms and held him as the other man stood in front of him. Nick struggled to
get free but the man's grip was too tight on his arms. The man in front of him
hit him in the stomach as he felt the mans grip become tighter. He hit him in
the stomach over and over again as he started to cough up blood. The man hit
him in the face and he felt his world grow black.
"Nick,
Nick you ok" nick slowly opened his eyes to see Brian beside him and the
other guys spread around him.
"they
they" Nick stuttered
"we
know Nick when they saw us they ran" Brian explained.
"the
ambulance is on it's way" Aj said and that was the only thing Nick heard
before everything went black for the second time.

Nick
woke up with the biggest head ache ever a few hours later. He looked around the
room and spotted Mel outside the door talking to Leah.
"meell"
Nick said in barely a whisper. Mel turned around and looked at Nick. She ran
over to his bed and gave him a hug. Nick graoned and Mel released her hold.

don't blame yourself, it's not your fault"
'yeah
sure it is. If i would've just gone with Max you wouldn't be laying in this
hospitol bed' mel said to herself.
"i'm
sorry Nick and i love you" Mel said. She kissed Nicks cheek and walked
towards the door just as it opened and Jane rushed in followed by Brian, Aj,
Kevin, Howie,and aaron. Mel walked out the room and over to Leah. Leah
immediatly put her arms aorund Mel in a tight hug.
"Leah
it's all my fault"Mel cried breaking the hug
"Mel
it's not your fault don't think that"

Leah it is if i would've went with him nick would be ok"
"Mel
i know what your thinking and don't do it"
"Leah
i have to its the only way to stop this"

Mel you don't going back to him isn't gonna stop Nicks pain it's only going to
make it worse" Mel shook her head
"this
is the only way i know how. what if next time he kills nick. i couldn't live
with that" Leah sighed. She knew that onece Mel made her mind up about
something she wasn't gonna change it.
"Mel
i don't like this and i don't trust Max"
"Leah
i'll be fine I know Max better than anyone"

i still don't like this"
"you
can't tell anyone especially Aj or Nick" Mel said
"Mel
i..i dunno about this"
"Leah
please" Mel pleaded
"ok"
Leah sighed "fine"
"promise"
"i
promise" Leah said. Mel hugged Leah whispering a thank you in her ear
before walking back into the room with Nick. Aj walked out the room and over to
Leah.
"you
ok babe?" he asked. Leah hugged Aj and sighed.
"it's
never gonna be ok" she whispered as a single tear rolled down her cheek.
