Chapter 7

I woke up to a tap on my shoulder and saw Nick standing in front of me. I shook my head, but Nick didn’t disappear.

I looked around and saw we were standing in his house before he had commit suicide.  I saw him sitting on the couch watching the TV while drinking a beer.  He looked horrible, worse then how he looked when I saw him in the hospital bed.

I turned my head back to the TV when an announcement for our tour came on. I saw Nick walk to the kitchen and take a knife and carve letters into the wall.  He walked into the bathroom and shut the door.

The shadow of Nick took my hand and led me to the door. I tried to turn the knob, but found it was locked. Since this is a dream, I should be able to walk through the door, right?

I held my breath and walked through the door just in time to see him take something out of a package. I stood behind him and saw it was a razor blade.

“Nick no!” I screamed but no words came out with the movement of my mouth.

I saw him cut his flesh and watched the blood pour out of his wrist. He quickly pulled a towel over his arm as he walked out of the bathroom and to the phone.

I knew this is where he had to call me. Our few words vibrated through my mind as I saw him drop to the floor.

“Nick!!” I yelled as I felt someone shaking my shoulders.

“Brian, are you ok?” I heard someone say as I opened my eyes.

“I saw Nick commit suicide,” I said, my words barely a whisper and tears filling my eyes.

“Bri, what are you talking about?  Calm down,” Howie said as he hugged me to comfort me.

“In my dream, I saw Nick.  He’s like this because of us, Howie.  He couldn’t take it anymore and tried to end it by taking cocaine and drinking alcohol, but that didn’t work.  Then he finally went to suicide, and here we are today cause of our stupidity,” I said as Howie gasped.

“I cant believe this,” Howie said as tears rolled down his cheeks and Dr. Martinez walked up to us.

“Mr. Richardson is out of surgery.  We fixed the internal bleeding in his stomach, and also we fixed the hole that was in his lung,” Dr. Martinez said as I looked up at him.

“Is there anything on Nick or AJ?” I asked.

“Mr. Carter is still unconscious and is the same as he was earlier today, and Mr. McLean in still asleep. You may go see Mr. Richardson if you like,” Dr. Martinez said as we nodded and got up heading for Kevin’s room.

Before we entered Howie looked at me.  “I’m going to visit Nick and AJ.  I’ll be back in a few,” he said as I nodded and walked into Kevin’s room.

I pulled up a chair and looked at Kevin.  “We should have helped him sooner, Kev, but nobody ever knew how bad he was,” I said as I sighed.

“I saw it, I saw everything, and now I know why he’s doing this to us.  He’s putting us through our own pain as he goes through his and fights for his life,” I said, as I heard a knock on the door.  I turned around and saw Howie with tears in his eyes.

“He’s awake,” Howie said, as I got up, and we both ran back to Nick’s room.
