Prologue
Nick stared at the doctor in disbelief. How
could this have happened? He had been so careful and particular. He wasn’t like
his other friends by any means. But why had it happened to him?
“I know this might take awhile to sink in,”
Dr. Sherman said, patting Nick on the shoulder. “I’m going to send you home
with some pamphlets. I’d like to see you back here in about a week so we can go
over treatment options and medication.”
He hesitated before taking the stack of information
from the doctor’s outstretched hand. He stepped off the table, feeling as
though he had Jell-O for legs.
“Would you like me to call someone, Nick?”
Nick shook his head, not wanting to share his
news with anyone at the moment. His head was full of questions that no one
could answer.
