Chapter 2
I walked into the doctors office
sleepily and walked to the front desk.
"Hello" The lady at the
front desk said.
"Hi, I'm here for a appointment
with Dr. Smith" I said feeling my stomach start to cramp up.
"What's your name?" The lady
asked, I sighed, why do people have to ask so many questions?
"Rachael Johnson" I said.
"Do you still have HMO?" The
lady asked.
"Yes" I said as the lady
pointed towards a waiting room.
"You may go sit down now, A nurse
will come and get you in a few minutes" The lady said. I walked into the
room she pointed to. I plopped down in a chair, as I put my hands on my hand. I
heard " As long as you love me" come on the radio. I groaned as
Nick's part of the song came blasting out of the radio. Like I haven't heard
this song a million times. A nurse walked into the waiting room.
"Ms. Johnson?" The nurse
asked as she walked up to me.
"Yes that's me " I said as I
stood up.
"Come with me please" She
said as I followed her down a long hallway. I saw her stop ahead of me in front
of a scale.
"since you haven't been here for
so long we need to take your weight" The nurse said as I stepped onto the
scale. She played around with the old scale to get the right weight adjustment.
She smiled as she wrote down something on my file.
"You finally listened to Dr.
Smith and gained some weight" The nurse said. I looked at her, ive been on
a deit how can I gain weight.
"What do you mean?" I asked
curiously.
"You gained 35 pounds since
you've been here last" The nurse said as she lead me into a room.
"Dr. smith will be with you
soon" she said as she closed the door, leaving me alone. I sat down on a
chair and closed my eyes. I don't know long it was, but I heard the door creek
open and I opened my eyes.
"Hello" Dr. smith said as he
walked into the room and sat down in the chair across from me.
"Hi" I said looking at him
as he sat down. He looked at me and said, "So what's wrong with you?".
"Well ive been having stomach
cramps, ive been throwing up for the past 5 days now, and Ive got so exhausted
all of a sudden." I said as he wrote things down on a piece of paper and
looked up at me.
“Have you thought about a pregnancy
test?" He asked me. I looked at him shocked.
"I'm not pregnant am I?" I
asked as he shook his head.
"Well it all depends, It's just
by all the symptoms you've told me do match up to pregnancy, but I do want you
to take a test here to see if you are" Dr. Smith said.
"Ok, Ill take it" I said as
he got up and told me to follow him. I did as he said and he lead me to the
bathroom. He gave me the test and I walked in hoping I wasn't pregnant so I
would have to face Nick.

30 minutes later
I was waiting in Dr. smith's office
for the results. I saw him walk in and sit down in his chair.
"Am I?" I asked, filled of
curiousity.
"Yes" Dr. Smith said as
tears filled my eyes. I was deep into thought when I was interrupted by Dr.
Smith.
"Do you know who the father
is?" Dr smith asked.
"No I don't " I lied,
I couldn't tell nick about this. "But I have a friend that will help me, I
think"
"OK, I would like to see you
again in 2 months to see how the babys developing" Dr. Smith said as he
got up from his chair.
"Ok" I said as I got up and
Dr. Smith walked me to the door.
"Bye Rachael" he said
smiling.
"Bye" I said putting on a
fake smile as I walked out the door. What was I going to do now? I got into my
car and put my head back on the head rest. I picked up my cell phone and dialed
a familiar number.
