Chapter 5
It was two hours into the ride to the planet.
I was sitting in a chair when the spacecraft started to shake violently. I saw
Kevin run out of the cockpit.
"Guys the royals have us trapped in their
grasp!" Kevin said as I ran past him and towards the cockpit.
"Nick what are you doing, this isn't a
time to be playing with the controls"! Kevin yelled as he came back into
the cockpit and to where I was.
"I'm not playing with the controls I'm
trying to save our butts," I said as I pushed a few buttons.
"Wait what are you doing?" Kevin
asked as he watched every move my fingers made.
"I'm reversing the torpedo's to go
backwards so the grasp of the spacecraft will let go for a split second and we
could get out of there grasp" I said as I punched in the last of the codes
and sat down in the captains seat taking over the spacecraft.
"Everyone hold on!" Kevin yelled as
he sat down. A minute later the torpedo was launched and I felt the pull of the
royals spacecraft let us go. I pushed the driving stick forward, taking us into
hyper speed, successfully away from the royals. I took a breath as I pulled the
stick back to the position it was in before, taking us to normal speed. I
relaxed against the ship. How did I ever learn how to do that? Kevin patted me
on the back.
"Good job Nick" He said as he got up
and walked into the main part of the spacecraft where the other guys were. I
saw a planet coming up and turned on the microphone to the intercom.
"Kev, there's a planet coming up is it
the planet Aaron was taken captive on?" I asked as Kevin returned my
question through the microphone in the room he was in.
"Is it black and blue with rings?"
Kevin asked.
"yeah" I said as I pushed down the
button to talk.
"Then that's it Nick, land us on a smooth
surface." Kevin said. I couldn't believe he was going to let me land the
spacecraft. I didn't even know how! I took another deep breath as I
straightened up in the chair and pressed the intercom button again.
"Every one be seated we will be landing
soon" I said, I could get use to this. I looked at the controls I saw
Kevin push once when he landed us somewhere. I tried to remember everything ive
seen Kevin do, I looked to make sure we were above a smooth surface before I
did anything. I saw a smooth surface, pressed the buttons and pulled the lever
down. I felt the spacecraft go down towards the ground slowly as I pushed the
button for the feet to come out. The spacecraft landed smoothly as I got up and
walked to the room everyone else was.
"Nice job Nick" Brian said as we
walked towards the gunnery room, getting a few guns and knifes. We walked
out of the spacecraft, ready to blast anything's head off if it came towards
us.
"We're coming Aaron just hold on a little
while longer" I thought to myself as we stopped at the door of King
Yukon's spacecraft. I saw AJ kneel down and start to pick the code of the
doors. The doors opened as we all walked in the spacecraft.
"Were splitting up, Nick you and Brian go
that way, Howie and AJ come with me" Kevin said as me and Brian ran the
way we were directed to. Brian punched in a few codes for the doors that were
blocking the prisoner cells. The doors opened as I ran to the first cell. What
I saw wasn't what I expected to see.
