Updates of 2004
December 31st Updates
Wow, it’s the last “update” of 2004, and I
have nothing for you. I just wanted to
post and say happy new year! I know the
updates have been pretty sporadic lately, and
that’s only because the story I’m working on isn’t being posted on the
site yet, so I can only update when my hosted authors send me chapters of their
stories. But I promise I’m not going to
become one of those authors who starts updating her site less and less and
eventually just stops and shuts it down – not anytime soon anyway. I’m here for the long haul, and I promise
you’ll get something brand new from me when I’m done with the “Broken” sequel
I’m working on now. And CB fans, hang in
there, cause we haven’t given up on that yet either.
I hope everyone has a safe and happy New
Year’s Eve. Bring on 2005!!

September 14th Updates
Lots of hosted updates today! First, Chapter 43 of Kaz’s
“Human Alien” is up. I also have a brand
new hosted story, “Murder for Hire” by Phoenix and Raven. Check it out on the Hosted Stories page,
which I rearranged a little… all of the in-progress stories, including these
two, are at the top of the page now, followed by the finished stories (in
alphabetical order), followed by all of the discontinued stories. This way you won’t have to scroll way down
the page to read the updates of your favorite hosted stories.
In other updates, I added a new page to the
site called “Currently…”
It’s found on the Stories menu and is a list of links to the stories I’m
currently reading, as well as what I’m currently writing. You can go there for recommendations of new and
in-progress stories to read; I’m a pretty picky reader, so if I’m keeping up
with them, they must be good!
I also added background music to the main
page of the site. I originally had it
playing automatically when the page loads, but I changed it so you have to
click play manually (so as not to annoy anyone =P). If you scroll down to the very bottom of the
layout, you’ll see a box to play the music.
The song is “Imaginary” by Evanescence, which is what inspired the
current layout.

Wow, it’s been a long time! And unfortunately, there are no story updates

August 2nd Updates
Chapter 16 of Laura’s story “That’s What
Scares Me the Most” is up – hopefully that will help take your mind off of all
the crap that’s been going on in the last few days, if you know what I
mean. I did a lot of writing over the
weekend, and that definitely helped me.
In other updates, my Awards page has been updated to include the three
awards I won at the LavendarJade Awards – 2 for
“Broken” and 1 for “Not Another Teenybopper Fanfic.” Huge thanks to the judges for picking my
stories!!
July 25th Updates
Another hosted update for you – Chapter 41 of

July 23rd Updates
Several updates for tonight. Laura’s “That’s What Scares Me the Most” has
been updated again – Chapter 15 is up, and it’s a heartbreaker! I also have a new Supportee

July 18th Updates
Hosted update for you tonight. It’s been awhile since this story has been
updated, but Chapter 14 of Laura’s story “That’s What Scares Me the Most” is
up. It’s a great chapter, so I hope
those of you that have been waiting for it will enjoy it, and if you haven’t
read the story yet, go check it out!
July 6th Updates
No updates today, other than a new poll on
the site. For some odd reason, I’ve been
coming up with a lot of new story ideas lately.
Don’t know exactly why, other than the fact that I’ve been writing the
same storyline for a year and a half now, so I guess it’s about time I was hit
with some other ideas. I probably won’t
start a new story until my Broken sequel is close to being done, but since I
have these ideas in my head already, I can at least start thinking and planning
for my next story. Problem is, I don’t
know which one to pursue first. So I’d
like some input from the readers. Which
one do you want me to work on

June 23rd Updates
Whoo hoo, 2 updates in a row! How long has it been since THAT’S
happened? This update is one from the
hosted crew – Susan is back with a new short story called “An Addict to
Addiction.” I don’t have an official
summary for it yet, but it’s a Nick/AJ drama dealing with AJ’s drug use and
rehab, written from Nick’s POV. She’s
considering writing a sequel to it, so if you read it, be sure to send her
feedback and give her your thoughts on the first story and if you think it
should be developed further in a sequel or not, etc.

June 17th Updates
Surprise surprise,
I actually have something new from ME for you to read! Okay, technically it’s not new… it’s actually
a short parody that I wrote about three years ago and never posted, but I
decided that now is the time. We need a
little comedy! This one is called “Are
You There, God? It’s Me, Brian,” and
it’s a parody of (as you might have guessed =P) the classic Judy Blume young adult novel “Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret.” Like I said, it’s 3 years old, so it’s not
anything that’s going to rival Broken or any of my more recent stories LOL, but
if you know the original book, hopefully you’ll get a kick out of it.
Also, the Nominations page has been
updated. Thanks to those of you who have
nominated me at awards!
Finally, those of you who know me or have
done enough exploring on this site might remember that I credit my entire
fanfic experience (beginning with the actual discovery of fanfiction)
to Jen, or JJ, as many of you may know her.
Her site was the first fanfic site I stumbled onto 5 years ago, and her
first story “Blind Love” was the very first Bsb fanfic I ever read. She’s been one of my favorite authors ever
since, and she’s one of the few who wrote way back then and is still around
today. She’s actually been on hiatus for
the past year, but just like our Boys, she is BACK and better than ever! She’s revamped, renamed, and moved her site,

check it out! The slogan for DS used to
be “The best Bsb tearjerkers on the net,” but if anyone can claim that, it’s
JJ, not me. She’s a master at

June 6th Updates
Ahh, sorry it’s been so long since I’ve
updated! It’s hard to update frequently
these days because I have almost nothing to update. I’m currently working on the sequel to Broken,
which is available only to members of the Yahoo Group I’ve created for it (see
the Epilogue of Broken for more details if you want to join it and read), and
also Episode 16 of Code Blue, which is slow-going at the moment because
Bianca’s in the process of moving. But
we’re getting there. Speaking of which,
we sent a sneak peek of the new episode to the Code Blue Yahoo Group, so if

Onto the actual updates… Chapter 40 of Kaz’s “Human Alien” is up (very sweet chapter), and the

May 16th Updates
Chapter 39 of Kaz’s
“Human Alien” is up! Those of you
following this story, be sure to read the author’s note at the beginning of the
chapter, especially if you’re from the U.S.

judges at the Back to Your Heart Awards for my honorable mentions there! :)
“Code Blue” fans – this has already been
announced to my Yahoo Group and on the CB site, but for those of you who
haven’t heard, CB is BACK! Go visit the

info (and to join the new updates list), and we MIGHT have an episode up by
next Sunday. We’re not making any
promises, but that’s what we’re kinda hoping.

May 5th Updates
Chapter 38 of Kaz’s
“Human Alien” is up! I moved home from
college last night, so I’m stuck on dial-up for the summer, which makes doing
anything online take like 50 million times longer than it would at school. So… yeah, right now doing anything online is
seeming more like a chore than a fun thing.
I’ve been spoiled with my cable internet in my dorm all year. =P LOL.
Bear with me till I get adjusted to that and lower my standards again.
I am HOPING that this will be the summer
Bianca and I get going on our collaborated stories again – the plan has always
been getting NON out of the way first and then getting back to CB. Both of those stories will come before me
starting anything new of my own (besides the Broken sequel, obviously). Also, unless I have a miraculous attitude
change sometime soon, the DS Awards will not be held this year, due to a group
of people who ruined them for me last year.
The Undiscovered Gems might though.
Susan and Bianca, my UGA cohorts, both have a lot going on in their
lives too, so I can’t make any promises about that yet.
BMS people – expect more updates soon! I haven’t been able to write much this past
week, with the last week of classes and finals and moving out and stuff, but I
hope to get back to that this week, so hang in there!

I’m too busy and stressed out at the moment
to scrap together a real update, but today’s my site’s 4th birthday,
so… happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear DS, happy
birthday to you! And many more. :) And thanks, Jenn, for posting on my Tagboard because, sad as it is, I’ve had so much on my mind
that I probably would have forgotten and realized it later and been pissed at

Wow, it seems like forever since I’ve updated
my SITE. I do have actual updates today
though – Chapter 25 of Susan’s “Overconfidence” and Chapter 34 of Kaz’s “Human Alien” are both up. There’s also two new additions to the Picture
Gallery for “Human Alien,” so don’t forget to look at those too.
I gotta say, hosted updates are probably all
you’re going to get for the next few weeks, maybe even months, so site updates
will only be as frequent as the hosted authors finish chapters of their
stories. Now that I have finished
Broken, I’m working on a sequel to it, but the sequel is only available to
readers of Broken that have joined the Yahoo Group mentioned in the previous
update, so it will not be posted on the site [yet]. I doubt I will start another story of my own
until that sequel is finished. I do have
two collaborated projects that I plan on continuing though, when the time is
right. Fans of “Now or Never” and “Code
Blue” – hang in there! I know we’ve left
you hanging for waaaay too long already, but don’t
give up hope – we are still planning to finish both of those stories (or at least
update them – CB could go on forever and never really be “finished” LOL). Bianca has had a LOT going on in her personal
life lately and had to put her site on hiatus a few weeks ago (it’s back now
though), so now is really not a good time for her. And to be honest, while I was still working
on Broken, neither of the collaborated stories were very high on my priority
list either. But when we’re both to the
point where we’re ready to get back to writing together, the game plan is to
tackle NON first, get as far as we can on that (maybe finish it?), and then
move on to CB. At the rate we’re going
now, it could be awhile yet before that actually happens now, but we are still
planning on it, and that’s a good sign.
On that note, if anyone has ideas for “Now or
Never,” we’re open to suggestions.
Writer’s block is the major hurdle with that story, so if you’ve been
reading it and have ideas of what you think will or should happen next, let us

Another hardly-any-updates update… sorry
about that. The Awards page has been
updated – thanks to the judges over at the Bed-Head Awards for choosing
“Identical” as Best Brian Story! I also
cleaned up the Nominations page, and I’ve spent the past week re-reading and
proofreading “Broken,” so I just reposted the whole thing yesterday. I didn’t make any big changes, just corrected
typos and stuff.

March 9th Updates
This is a momentous day for me. After 14 months, 150 chapters (and an
epilogue), and 583 pages, “Broken” is finished. :) Chapter 150 and the Epilogue are up, as well
as some new features that I’ve been waiting till the end to post. First, I gave the chapter index page a bit of
a facelift with new banners and such. I
also posted two author’s notes – one to be read by new readers at the beginning
of the story, and an extremely long and rambling one that I wrote tonight, to
be read upon finishing the story (and you don’t have to read it; it’s just
there if you want to). There’s also an
“alternate ending” and a… *wince*… soundtrack.
I’m not big on fanfic soundtracks usually, but… in this case, yeah, I
had a soundtrack, and I used it. I have
a playlist on Windows Media of all the “Broken songs” and I listened to it
while I was writing or trying to get inspired, so I felt that counted as a
“soundtrack” and decided to post it as one.
I might upload the song files to my Yahoo Group for download at some
point, if anyone is interested. Anyway,
please be sure to read the author’s note at the end of the epilogue, and enjoy
the end of the story!!! :)

And if all goes as planned, the next time I update Broken, it will be
finished. And I am almost positive that
will be week.

Chapter 148 of “Broken” is up! Coming in at a total of 12 pages, this is the
longest chapter of the story and is supposed to be one of the most emotional
ones too. So enjoy! :) I’d be happy to hear what you think. I know a lot of you are probably going to be
screaming “I hate you, Julie!” again (hehe), but
don’t expect another update till AT LEAST the weekend. The next chapter has been started, but this
week is crazy busy for me, so I highly doubt I’ll be able to finish it before
Friday. But next week is spring break
for me, so if all goes as planned, the story will not only be updated, but…
finished? I’m not going to make any
promises, but that’s a definite possibility. :)

February 21st Updates
Three “Broken” chapters in less than 24
hours. I rock. HAHA just kidding… I cheated a bit. Split up the former Chapter 145 into two
separate chapters – 145 and 146. They’re
both up now for your reading enjoyment.
And be glad I remembered because it’s 2:16 am, I just got ready for bed,
shut down my computer, and THEN remembered that I was going to put up these
chapters on Saturday and that I probably wouldn’t be able to get them up in the
morning after all because my roomie will be around. So I turned the computer back on just so I
could get this updated so that you wouldn’t have to wait till Sunday. Now don’t you feel special? Hehe. If I’m rambling, I apologize; it’s late (or

Here’s the promised Friday update. Chapter 144 of “Broken” is up. Chapter 145 is actually done… and I was
thinking about putting it up today, but… I’m not going to. Not yet anyway. I haven’t had much of a chance to read it
over again and make sure I’m okay with it, so I’m not ready to get it up yet. I’m pretty sure it will be up this weekend at
some point though.

February 17th Updates
Big update today, just like in the old
days! Exciting times, hehe. First up,
Chapter 143 of “Broken” is up. And for

Forgiven” are up. And finally, the
long-anticipated Chapter 33 of Kaz’s “Human Alien”
has been posted, as well as a new sketch in the Picture Gallery for that

February 13th Updates
Chapter 142 of “Broken” has been posted. I think this weekend was the perfect time to
put it up too, considering today is Friday the 13th and tomorrow is
Valentine’s Day. It just kind of fits
the chapter, as you’ll see. ;) Comments
are always appreciated, and if I’m feeling motivated, I’ll have another chapter
for you over the weekend. The “My

February 9th Updates
Sorry for the long wait, but Chapter 141 of
“Broken” is finally done, and 142 is started and will most likely be up by the
end of the week. Thanks so much to those
of you who helped me out – I had no idea
what I was going to write for the next couple of chapters, but I finally got
some ideas together and started writing.
Speaking of writing, Susan has been doing some of it too – Part 17 of
her story “All Is Not Forgiven” has been posted in the hosted section. Also in hosted updates, a new sketch by Kaz has been put up in Chapter 3 of her story “Human
Alien.” Finally, the Nominations page
has been updated – thanks to the person that nominated me for the Stripped
Awards. :) Also thanks to those of you
who voted for me over at the Bed-Head Awards – finalists have been posted, and
my stories made it to the next round in the categories I was nominated in that
weren’t cut due to a lack of other nominees.

end pretty well planned out, but I have room for additions, so let me
know. I’m always interested to hear what
other people think.
Oh, and as a note, Steph (co-star of the Hatemail section on my Bsb vs. ‘N Sync page) hasn’t
contacted me yet, but if she does, I may have to go out of town for a day or
two to party with her. Those of you who
have read that whole saga might remember the email in which I said the
following to her: “Let me know when Justin wins his first
Grammy, and once I regain consciousness, I’ll be happy to come celebrate with
you.” Well, the Backstreet Boys sang me
out of my coma late last night with a rousing medley of “Don’t Wanna Lose You
Now” and other inspirational songs, but it looks like I still have some
‘celebrating’ to do. =P Someone shoot me
now.
January 30th Updates
Chapter 140 of “Broken” is up. If anyone has suggestions for little “filler
parts” (as I call them) to put in the next chapter or two, let me know. I’m just trying to come up with a part or two
to use as I’m transitioning into the next big part of the story… I have no idea
if that makes any sense at all, but if there’s something you’d like to see me
write in there, let me know. Can’t
promise I’ll use your idea(s), but I’m open to suggestions. :)

January 25th Updates
Well, it’s 1 a.m., but I just now FINALLY
finished Chapter 137 of “Broken”’ and wanted to get it up for those who care
ASAP. I didn’t quite expect it to take
me ten days to write; sorry about that!
I’ll go ahead and say this now… for those of you have been wondering,
“how long can this story possibly drag on??” it’s nearing the end… I’m planning
to have it wrapped up by about Chapter 150.
That could take me another month or two, of course, but just so you have
an idea… that’s what I’m kinda planning on right now. :) As for other updates, I have one more – a
new drawing has been added to the gallery of illustrations for Kaz’s story “Human Alien”.

January 15th Updates
Chapter 136 of “Broken” is up (and I’m up to
500 pages now =P). To be honest, it’s
pretty much a pointless filler chapter that really shouldn’t have taken me five
days to write, but what can I say? I was
quite distracted for at least two of those days. Anyway, the next chapter has been started,
but I’m going to be out of town all weekend, so there won’t be another update
till at least Tuesday, and that’s pushing it.
Also, don’t forget to go back and check the end of Chapter 135 to see Kaz’s little illustration. :)
January 10th Updates
Chapter 135 of “Broken” is up, and the Hatemail section of the Bsb vs. ‘N Sync page has been
updated! After four months of staying
silent, our favorite ‘N Sync teeny, Steph, decided to attempt a comeback for
the new year. It’s really nothing big,
but it’s sort of a nice epilogue to the Me vs. Steph saga, so I thought I’d put
it up. :) Thanks so much to those of you who have been
sending me feedback for Broken; it’s you guys that are keeping me
inspired! I’m going back to school
tomorrow, so with getting settled back into the swing of things and adjusting
to a new schedule and new classes, I don’t know how much time I’ll have to
write in the next few days, but you know I’ll try.
January 9th Updates
Surprise, surprise, I have another TWO
“Broken” chapters! 133 and 134 are both
up. I got on a roll today and knocked
off about 10 pages! And in honor of AJ’s
b-day, both chapters not only feature AJ, but the last line in each is spoken
by him (which was not planned – it just turned out that way, so I thought I’d
share =P).

Whoo hoo, the first update of 2004! Happy New Year! This is about 6 days later than I would have
