The first concert of the tour was in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Brian
was very excited, since it was to be his first concert since his transplant.
Alexa was also excited. She had a front row seat for the concert. Her mother
hadn't been thrilled when she told them that Brian wanted her to tour with him.
They knew she loved him, and although they thought she was a little young for
him, they liked Brian. But since Alexa was going away to college in the fall, they
wanted one last summer with their daughter. Alexa had begged, and finally, they
had allowed her to go with him.
Alexa had a front row seat at the concert. The Boys opened with
"Larger Than Life" and flew over the crowd on neon green surfboards.
They performed the entire concert perfectly. Brian's voice sounded better than
ever. He sang beautifully and looked at her many times during the concert. When
they sang "Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely" he stared right into
her eyes, and she felt overcome with emotion, for the song reminded her of
Elisa. The Boys finished the concert with "I Want It That Way" and
left the stage, millions of fans screaming their names.
Alexa met them backstage. When she found Brian, she rushed over to him
and threw her arms around him.
"You were wonderful, baby," she cried, hugging him tightly.
Brian was sweaty and out of breath, but he pulled her close to him and kissed
her lips. Then he went to his dressing room to change clothes. After all the
guys were changed, they all headed out for dinner to celebrate their
outstanding performance.

The rest of the tour seemed to fly by for Alexa. She spent every minute
she could with Brian, and she never grew tired of him. She had had several
serious boyfriends before, but she had never experienced such love for them as
she did for Brian. She wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. She began
to grow worried as it grew closer and closer to the end of the tour. She knew
that when it was over, she'd have to go back to Kentucky and start college.
Brian had vacation time afterwards, and she had told him he should go someplace
nice, but he had insisted on staying in Lexington so he could see her.
Secretly, she was pleased by his decision. She wanted him there with her.
