Chapter

Jennie arrived
right at nine. Katelyn grabbed her duffel bag and her purse and ran out the
door, locking it behind her.
"Hey,
Kate!" Jennie said, as Katelyn climbed into Jennie's black sports car.
"Hey!"
Katelyn said brightly.
"Oh,
Katelyn, this is going to be so awesome!" Jennie said, her brown eyes
flashing excitedly. "Thanks so much for letting me come with you!"
"Well, of
course I'm bringing you with me! You're my best friend," Katelyn said,
smiling at Jennie.
Jennie grinned
and gave Katelyn a light hug before starting the car. Then she pulled out of
the drive and headed towards the radio station.

Ten minutes
later, the two girls were riding in a fancy black limo. They sat in the back
and talked excitedly the whole way to Lexington.
The trip
seemed to pass in no time. Before Katelyn knew it, the limo was pulling up to
the front of the hotel. The driver stopped the limo and climbed out. He walked
around to first Katelyn's side and then Jennie's, helping both girls out. He
took their bags out of the trunk and carried them inside, Katelyn and Jennie
following along behind him.
They checked
in and went up to their spacious room. Then it was only a matter of hours
before it would be time to leave for the Rupp Arena.

At 5:45,
Katelyn and Jennie were all ready to go. They grabbed their purses, checked
their hair for a final time, and headed downstairs to the limo.
The whole way
to the arena, Katelyn was shaking. She was nervous and excited at the same
time.
When they got
there, the driver helped the girls out and led them into the arena. He knew
exactly where he was going. He led the girls through the arena and up to a
security guard who was standing in front of a blue door.
"These
girls are here for the meet and greet," he told the guard.
"Passes?"
the guard asked. Katelyn and Jennie eagerly showed the guard their backstage
passes. "Go on in," the guard said, opening the door.
"Go on
in. I'll be waiting for you after the concert," the driver told the girls.
They nodded and went through the door. They found themselves in a long hallway.
Another guard approached them.
"You're
here for the meet and greet?" he asked. They nodded and showed him their
passed. "All right, come with me," the guard said. He started down
the hall, and they tagged along after him. He stopped at a door at the end of
the hall and opened it. "Go on in," he said, smiling at them. Katelyn
and Jennie smiled back and entered a large room that looked like a lounge. It
had couches and a few tables. Several girls of all different ages sat in the
couches. The Backstreet Boys were nowhere to be seen yet. Katelyn and Jennie
sat down next to each other on one of the couches.
As they
waited, more and more people showed up and sat down to wait.
Finally,
Jennie looked down at her watch. "It's almost time," she whispered to
Katelyn. Katelyn flashed her a nervous grin. Only a few more minutes to go.
