For dinner, Dave grilled hamburgers, while Lisa made macaroni and
cheese, Brian's favorite. As Morgan
watched her mother work in the kitchen, she leaned over and whispered to Brian,
"I told her that macaroni and cheese was your favorite food."
Brian
grinned at her. "Well, you were
right. I love macaroni and
cheese." Morgan beamed. Suddenly, Brian slapped his forehead. "I knew I had forgotten something,"
he said.
"What?"
Morgan asked.
"Something
I brought for you. I left it in the
car. Hang on a minute, and I'll go get
it, okay?" he asked.
"Okay,"
Morgan replied. "What is it?"
"It's
a surprise," Brian said, smiling secretively at her.
"Oooh,
a surprise!" Morgan exclaimed.
"Hurry up and get it, Brian!"
Brian hurried out to the car and pulled a purple gift bag out of the
backseat.
"Here
you go," he said, placing it in front of Morgan. Morgan grinned and pulled something out of
the large bag. She smiled again when she
saw what it was.
"Wow,
thanks Bri!" she said happily. It
was a large Donald Duck stuffed animal.
"You're
welcome," Brian said in his Donald Duck voice. Morgan giggled, which made Brian smile even
more.

The
dinner was delicious. Afterward, Brian
went back to Morgan's room to play with her for awhile. Around 7:00, he saw she was getting tired and
decided he had better get ready to go.
"I
wish you didn't have to leave, Brian," Morgan said, sticking out her lower
lip.
"I
wish I didn't have to either," Brian said.
"But I have to. I have a
plane to catch for Florida tomorrow."
"Wow! I've never been on a plane before,"
Morgan said.
"They
aren't that cool. I've been on a bunch,
and it gets kinda boring after awhile, just sitting there," Brian told
her. Then he turned to Dave and
Lisa. "Thank you very much for
letting me come down and for supper. It
was wonderful."
"You're
welcome any time," said Lisa.
"It makes Morgan happy when you're here." Brian smiled.
He bent down to hug Morgan and kiss her good-bye.
"How
bout I call you when I get back to Florida?" he suggested. Morgan's eyes lit up.
"Would
you?"
"Sure,
I will," Brian said. "I promise."
"Pinky
swear?" she asked, holding up her pinky to him.
"Pinky
swear," Brian said, and he did.
"Good-bye everyone. Take
care," he said, and then he walked out to the car, waving as he drove
away.
