Chapter

A month later,
in the middle of August, Morgan and her parents flew down to Florida. The first
three days of their vacation, they stayed in Orlando and went to Disney World,
Epcot Center, and MGM Studios.
The fourth
day, Lisa and Dave brought Morgan to Brian's house and dropped her off while
they went out to spend the day sightseeing.
It was a beautiful day, and there was a cool breeze, making it not as
hot as normal days.
Brian decided
it was the perfect day for a boat ride. He called up Nick and asked if he would
take him and Morgan out on his boat. Nick was more than happy to, and told them
to come around noon.
Brian packed a
picnic lunch for the three of them and drove Morgan to Nick's house by the
ocean. Nick gave Morgan a quick tour of his large house, carrying her around on
his shoulders. Then they went down to the marina where Nick's boat was kept.
It was bright
and sunny when they set out. Morgan loved the boat and the ocean. She and Brian
sat by each other in the back of the boat while Nick drove it. He took them out
far from the shore and let the boat drift. Then they ate their lunch.
After lunch,
they did some more cruising. After awhile, the sky started to get cloudy. Brian
suggested they head for home, but Morgan protested. She wanted to stay out
longer. Brian didn't want to go against her wishes, so they drove around
longer. She lay contently on one of the seat's, her head in Brian's lap.
"Don't
you want to go back and take a nap?" Brian asked her, noticing that she
was getting tired.
"No,"
Morgan said firmly. "I can take a nap right here." They cruised
around a while more, and Morgan eventually fell asleep.
Brian suddenly
felt a raindrop and glanced up at the sky.
"We'd
better head back in, Nick," he said, noticing how dark the sky had gotten.
"We don't want to get caught in a storm out here."
"You're
right, Bri," Nick replied. "I'll start heading back in." He
turned the steering wheel in the direction for home.
