December 29^th Updates

Well, I ended up not getting another update in before Christmas, but I hope everyone had a nice holiday, whatever you celebrate! As for updates, Chapter 164 of “My By Side” is up, and so are Chapters 14-18 of Pat’s story “Mistakes Have Consequences.”

December 2^nd Updates

Chapter 159 of “By My Side” is up! And I know some people won’t be happy with how it ends, but I started on 160 today, and it’s coming along swimmingly, so hopefully I’ll have that up within a few days (maybe even tomorrow). Enjoy!

November 29^th Updates

Chapters 12-13 of Pat’s story “Mistakes Have Consequences” are up.

I am also very excited to announce that I have another story by my newest hosted author, Nina, to post. The story is called “Dance,” and it’s not just any short story, but a follow-up, companion, and tribute to my novel “Beside the Ocean.” Nina read the story just a couple of days ago, got inspired, and wrote an absolutely BEAUTIFUL short story that could easily be a second epilogue for the original. It picks up a year after the point at which “Beside the Ocean” leaves off and gives us a both touching and heart-breaking look at Nick as he struggles to let go.

I have to say, I cried when I read it, and it’s not like I sit and cry while reading my own stories, so it’s saying a lot that I cried over a story based off one of my own. Nina captured the characters and emotions perfectly, probably better than I did in the first place, and I am honored to be able to post this story along with mine. I’m gushing, not just because the story is wonderful (and I’m not being subjective here; it really is!), but also because I’m incredibly flattered that someone would write a story based on one of my own. It’s almost like having a fanfic for my fanfic! LOL Anyway, I’ll stop rambling on and on now, but please, if you read “Beside the Ocean” and enjoyed it, you have to go read “Dance.” You won’t be disappointed. :)

What, back to back updates?! Don’t get too excited; it’s just a small one.

Out of boredom and the usual annoyance at LiveDaily’s psychoticness, I made my own forum for the site. This is just an experiment; I’m not expecting it to take off, but I figured, hey, maybe there are other people out there like me who get sick of the crazies on some of the bigger Bsb message boards out there and would like a less popular place to talk about the Boys and fanfics and real life and randomness and all of that great stuff. November 21^st Updates

Another update for ya, finally! Sorry, it’s been a long, busy month so far, and I had the flu last week, so it’s taken awhile to get a chapter done. But I do have a new BMS chapter for you, a nice long one at that! Sorry it’s about a month late, but the Halloween chapter, Chapter 158, is up, and in honor of the occasion, it’s a nice unlucky 13 pages long – long enough to be two chapters. So enjoy! And it’s Thanksgiving break for me, so I’ll have more writing time than normal this week.

Also, I have a new hosted story! This is a Nick short story by Nina called “Tomorrow Can Never Be,” and it’s one of those DS specialties – a really sad little tearjerker. November 4^th Updates

What?! An update?!

Yes, it’s for real.

Sorry for sucking during the month of October. Honestly, it was just a crazy busy month for me, and I didn’t have much time to write, not even on the weekends. But I did write when I could, a little at a time, and finally, that’s added up to two new BMS chapters! So Chapters 156-157 of “By My Side” are up finally. Thanks for your patience with me!

Also, I have to brag for a minute… I hit page 1,000 on BMS last night!! So I now have a thousand-page novel to my name. I dunno why, but there’s some satisfaction in that LOL. And not only that, but that means those of you who are reading BMS have now READ a thousand-page novel! (Actually, if you combine it with Broken, it’s over 1500 pages altogether.) That’s a LOT of reading, so thank you so much to those of you who have stuck with me through that many pages! You guys rock!!!

Enjoy the chapters, and hopefully it won’t take me as long to get the next update out. Next week should be slightly less crazy.

In hosted news, Sarah has decided that she’s not ready to continue on “This Time Around,” her threequel to “Second Chances” and “Then Again,” at this point in time, so she has asked that I take down the new story for now. She might continue it in the future, but she has other projects she’d rather focus on right now.

September 24^th Updates

Big update today!! First up, Chapter 154 of “By My Side” is up. I’m so sorry it took so long to get it out, and hopefully it doesn’t seem too disjointed cause of how long it took me to write it LOL.

Next, I have two new hosted stories by Sarah, the author of “Second Chances,” “Then Again,” and several short stories. First, there is the highly-anticipated threequel to “Second Chances” and “Then Again.” It’s called “This Time Around,” and it can be found in the Combo section of the hosted page, or just on the main hosted page. The Prologue and Chapter 1 are up so far. Sarah was a little unsure about whether or not to write this one, so if you want her to keep going, let her know what you think of it!

September 17^th Updates

Chapters 9-11 of Pat’s story “Mistakes Have Consequences” are up!

BMS readers, I am seriously almost done with the next chapter of the story, but not quite. This last week was so busy that I didn’t have any time to write until the weekend, but I really thought I’d get it done over the weekend. I did get a few pages written, but not as much as I wanted to because the chapter still isn’t quite done LOL. I haven’t been mega-inspired the way I like to be, and I decided not to try to force the ending out before this update, but it should be up within the next few days. Just wanted to drop you a line and explain that – bear with me!

I just got DSL at home, which is AWESOME because I’ve been stuck on dial-up since May, but honestly, having high speed internet leads to a lot of distractions while I’m trying to write… so maybe that’s my excuse for my lack of productivity this weekend. =P I will try to write after school tomorrow and Tuesday and hopefully get this chapter done!!

September 5^th Updates

Chapters 152-153 of “By My Side” are up!

Also, I’ve been meaning to do this for awhile now, but I have majorly updated the “What story should I write next?” poll, which is linked on the main page, where it says “READERS” in bold orange at the top of the frame. Since the original page and poll was put up two years ago, my ideas and preferences have changed a bit, and now that I’m slowly getting closer to finishing BMS, I’ve started thinking about new stories again. I’ve pretty much narrowed it down to two ideas that I’m really considering for my next story, and I’d like some reader input to see which one sounds more appealing to you, since that might factor into what I decide to write next. So if you’re interested in what I might be writing in the future, please go read that page and vote in the poll – thanks!

September 2^nd Updates

Great news! Now that I’m two weeks into the new school year and have left all my BMS readers hanging for three solid weeks, I have finally had some free time and some sleep and a chance to get my inspiration back. Sorry for the delay, but I finally finished Chapter 151 of “My By Side” today, so that is up, beginning the fourth and final part of the story.

Also, I have a new hosted short story, “What Hurts the Most” by Kaylee. August 28^th Updates

Hosted update for ya today! Chapters 6-8 of Pat’s story “Mistakes Have Consequences” are up. BMS readers, I finally wrote a little bit on Chapter 151 today… I’m still getting back into the swing of things though, so I can’t tell you for sure when I’ll have this chapter done and ready to be posted. I’ve got a decent amount of it done, but I’m only partway into the most important scene of it. If you have any suggestions or thoughts on what you’d like to see in this chapter, send them my way – it’s not too late, and maybe hearing from other people would get me going again. CB readers, our next episode is planned out and underway, but bear with us – with people starting school and working and such, it’s been hectic, so it’ll probably be a little while before the episode is done.

August 22^nd Updates

Well, I’m sad to say that my summer writing bonanza has ended with the start of school. :( I’m in my last year of college this year and interning at an elementary school this semester, as a pre-cursor to student teaching, in addition to taking my last four college courses, so I’m going to be very busy. I started this week, so I haven’t had as much time to write, and my mind has just been very preoccupied with other things. Good things – it’s been exciting so far – but yeah, I just haven’t had BMS on the brain as much. Chapter 151 is in the works, but it’s been really slow-going – hasn’t really started “flowing” yet because I haven’t been inspired enough, so I’m taking my time and waiting till I can get “in my element” to really get on a roll with it. Please bear with me!

In the meantime, I do have a small site update for you. If you’ve explored the site, you’ve probably seen the page with the three fanfic-related quizzes I made – if not, it’s the “My Quizzes” page found on the Extras menu. One of the three quizzes, the “Which Character Are You?” one, hasn’t worked for a long time, and I don’t know why – when I log into Quizilla, it shows it there, but I can’t even access it from my own account – something’s messed up with it, and I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to get it back. So I decided to make a new quiz – same concept, but slightly different. Since I know I have a lot of newer visitors who have read Broken and BMS and probably not many of my crappy old stories, I just made the quiz related to those stories. So now it’s “Which Character From the Broken Series Are You?” Don’t think I’m self-absorbed for making a quiz about my own fictional characters LOL; I just wanted to do quizzes that were original, and obviously it’s gonna be original if I use my own stories and characters LOL. Anyway, it’s just for fun. Chapters 149 and 150 of “By My Side” are up! BMS readers - this ends Part III of the story, but it does NOT end the story. There will be a Part IV, which may or may not get to a full fifty chapters… at this point, I’m thinking not, but I tend to underestimate myself, so ya never know. Big update today! Chapters 147-148 of “By My Side” are up, and I have two new hosted stories as well! The first is the sequel to Pat’s short story “Mistakes,” which I posted at the end of last month. The sequel is called “Mistakes Have Consequences.” It’s an AJ drama/romance novel, so it’s located in the AJ section of the hosted stories, but since it’s incomplete, it’s also on the main hosted page. Chapters 1-5 of it are up, and more should be coming soon. The second new hosted story is a short comedy called “The Bet” by Roox. It was always heading in one direction, and I took it down with 62% of the vote for that choice and no new votes during the time I was online last night. I’ve been doing some major writing today, and Chapter 144 of “By My Side” is up! For my BMS readers: This is a VERY important chapter, in that, at the end, a decision is posed that will be up to YOU to make. There is a poll at the end of the chapter; your votes will determine what happens in the next few chapters and beyond. I can’t keep writing until I see which way the poll goes, so I need you to read and vote ASAP if you want your opinion to count. The poll will only be up for a few days max, because I’ve been on such a writing streak lately that I don’t think I can stand to go much longer without starting the next chapter, and I need to know where I’m heading before I do. So if you’re following the story, please read as soon as you can and place your vote. Your opinion is very much appreciated!!

I haven’t gone over a week without updating in a few weeks; however, I have the updates to make up for it! Three new chapters of “By My Side,” Chapters 134-136, are up! The first couple parts of Chapter 134 were written by a wonderful guest author, Bianca, so if you’re reading the story, don’t forget to drop her a line! Her email addy is posted in the chapter. It’s not easy to just up and write a part for someone else’s story, and she put a lot more effort into what she was writing than I would have (which is why I asked her if she wanted to write it LOL), so I’m sure she’d appreciate some feedback on it. :)

July 12^th Updates

Big-ass update for ya today! LOL. Chapter 131 of “By My Side” is up, and I just wanted to say thanks so much to everyone who sent feedback on the last two – I loved reading your reactions, and they were actually a lot better than I expected, so thanks! LOL. Also, Episode 19 of “Code Blue” is up – would very much appreciate some reactions on that one, if anyone’s even reading it! LOL. And perhaps most exciting, Sarah’s story “Then Again” is finished!!! Chapters 40-43 plus the Epilogue and even an alternate ending are up! Enjoy, and please let Sarah know what you thought! One last update – I wrote a tutorial called “The Mechanics of Writing,” which is basically about the basic grammar/mechanics rules of English. There’s a lot of writing tutorials out there, but most of the fiction writing ones focus on the elements of a story, such as plot, characters, setting, etc. and tips for overcoming writer’s block and all of that. That stuff is all GREAT, but what I’ve noticed is, you can have really great content in your story, but if it’s poorly written, in terms of grammar and mechanics, a lot of readers aren’t going to bother reading it. If you’re a writer and feel like you could stand to brush up on your skills in that area or need some help in proofreading your work, please read the tutorial; it’s there as a resource for you, and I hope it helps! She sent me this poem, which she wrote after finding out about Kevin leaving, and I really liked it; I think it describes the thoughts and feelings many of us have about the issue very well. June 26^th Updates

Either writing has served as my way to distract myself from the whole Kev situation, or I just hit a good part in BMS, cause I wrote like CRAZY this weekend! 15½ pages yesterday alone LOL – that’s gotta be some kind of record for me. I didn’t expect that to happen at all, but I’m not complaining! Chapters 125-126 of “By My Side” are up, and two more chapters should be posted within the next few days.

June 24^th Updates

I debated over whether or not I should update my site today/tonight because this is such a sad day in the Backstreet world. In case you haven’t heard, it’s official now – Kevin is leaving the group. :( There’s been a rumor going around the message boards for the last ten days, so some of you might have been trying to prepare yourselves, but others might be hearing this for the first time and are in total shock. All I can say is, I’m sorry. :( We Bsb fans are all in the same position now, so all I can do is extend my part of the massive virtual group hug that’s going around. o----^__^----o

The only good news in all of this is that the other guys are still going to record and release music, with Kevin’s blessing. I know not everyone is happy about that, but I personally love each of them and will continue to support the group no matter what, though it’s never going to be the same.

I also just wanted to reassure you that as far as fanfic goes, I’m not going anywhere. I’m devastated by this news, and when I first heard the rumor ten days ago, it was very hard to work up any motivation to write. In fact, other than writing CB parts because I HAD to, I didn’t touch any of my stories until just last night, when I finally wrote some on BMS. But now that the news is out, I feel like I can finally start accepting it… and writing again. ;) This news affects my inspiration more than my actual stories, but I love Bsb fanfic too much to quit just because the group isn’t the same. So while I know it’s probably the least of your concerns right now, my site isn’t going anywhere. ;)

And if you need an escape from the reality in Bsb land right now, I do have updates for you. Chapters 123 and 124 of “By My Side,” which were written like two weeks ago, way before this rumor surfaced, are finally up. Also, there’s a new part of “The Ultimate Collaboration,” Part 18, that was written by Anita. Thanks Anita!

It probably seems weird to be reading fanfic at a time like this, and don’t worry if you don’t feel like reading the updates now… but in case you do, there they are.

To everyone who is grieving right now (maybe that sounds like a stretch, but I think it’s true for a lot of us!), hang in there, and despite everything, KTBSPA!!!

June 21^st Updates

What, an update?! Sorry it’s been an unusually long time since the last one… especially considering it’s summer. There’s been a lot of craziness and drama lately though, and my poor laptop finally kicked the bucket, among other things, so this update has been a long time in coming but just hasn’t been put up till now. I do have some good updates for ya tonight though! Chapters 36-39 of Sarah’s story “Then Again” are up, as well as two more chapters of “The Ultimate Collaboration,” written by Mer! Thanks Mer! Parts 16-17 of that are up.

As for my stories, I haven’t touched BMS in… almost two weeks, I think. =/ Not by choice, but I promise I’ll get back to it soon, and once I do, there will be a BIG update… at least two, maybe three chapters. Also, the next episode of “Code Blue” should be up VERY soon… hopefully this week yet. It’s ALMOST done. So expect updates on both of those stories soon! Thanks for your patience!

June 4^th Updates

Big update today! Chapters 121-122 of “By My Side” are up. Also, anyone remember “The Ultimate Collaboration”? It’s a Round Robin story I started in 2000 with the intent that I would just have it up on the site, and anyone could add a part to it. I think it’s only been updated about once since 2001 or so, and I tend to forget about it, but I was surprised to find an email in the inbox of my old Excite mail with two new parts! May 27^th Updates

It’s technically not even the 27^th in my time zone yet, but since the May 26^th episode came in the early a.m., we’ll pretend it’s already the 27^th so as to make it less confusing. May 26^th Updates

Chapters 34-35 of Sarah’s “Then Again” are up! These are a major rollercoaster set of chapters too, lots of ups and downs, so enjoy and be sure to send Sarah your reactions after you’ve read them!

Sorry there’s no BMS update today; the next chapter is started, but between Six Flags, American Idol, and reading other stuff, I haven’t been writing as much the last few days. Like I said, I have been reading though, and I have two new additions to my Favorite Fanfics page. The first is “On the Outside” by Amy, which I actually read months ago for Mare’s Fanfic Fun group and have been meaning to add to the page. The second is “Between the Lines” by Carrie, which I had read part of before and never really got into it, but I gave it another try this week and got hooked – it’s amazing how a few years can change things LOL. Anyway, I read it in a few days and absolutely loved it, so it’s also now on the Favorites page as a recommendation. Head over there for the links, and enjoy!

One final note – Code Blue readers, Episode 18 is ALMOST done, and we think it’s turning out really well. I can’t tell you when it will be up yet, but hopefully within the next few days. The Code Team thing is working out better than I ever thought it would, and I really think the story’s going to be MUCH better with their help than it would have otherwise. So a HUGE thanks to our CT writers, and also thanks to anyone who is reading the story!

May 20^th Updates

Oh, you are not going to believe this – Chapter 119 of “By My Side” is up! May 19^th Updates

Big update tonight! Chapter 118 of “By My Side” is FINALLY up! Sorry for the long delay on that one. I had to abandon it for Code Blue and finals, and then I ended up throwing out the first version of the chapter, but I knocked off another version in the last few days. It’s nothing special, mostly filler stuff, but hey, it’s a chapter, right? LOL

Also, Chapters 32-33 of Sarah’s story “Then Again” are up! It’s been a little while on that story too, so I hope you enjoy the new chapters! Please let Sarah know if you do; I know she’ll appreciate the feedback. And speaking of Sarah, I have another new hosted short story by her as well! It’s called “The One,” and take it from me – it’s ADORABLE!!! Really sweet, beautiful story, so go read it! EDIT: I just added a tutorial I decided to write for how to build a website using Microsoft Word, which is what I use. I’ve had people ask me how to make a website, and there are tons of different ways to do it, but Word is what I have always used and continue to use, and since not many other people use it or seem to know how to use it for web design, I decided to write up a simple tutorial of the very basics. I think this is a first for this site, but the story “Kidnapped” by Jenn, which I had listed as discontinued because it’s been so long since I received chapters to post, is NOT discontinued. May 7^th Updates

This must be “Update Stories That Haven’t Been Updated in Forever!” week for me, cause guess what I have an update on tonight? “Not Another Teenybopper Fanfic!” Yeah, remember that one? Maybe not. Well, in any case, I finally got inspired over the weekend and knocked off a couple new chapters to it. Chapters 24-25 are up! And there will be plenty more where that came from, eventually… it could take me years to actually finish that story cause it’s pretty much just my back-up story, after BMS and CB… but I do have a LOT planned for it yet LOL. May 2^nd Updates

Sorry for the lack of updates lately; I have been CRAZY busy lately with end of the semester stuff! But I’ve got a great update for you today, on this most wonderful of days in Backstreet Land! =D Speaking of which, if you haven’t gotten Brian’s album “Welcome Home” yet, you definitely should – it’s AMAZING!!! I’ve been listening to it pretty much nonstop since I got it LOL. I love it!!! Doesn’t matter if you’re a Christian or not; if you like Brian and his voice, I think you’ll like the album.

CODE BLUE!!!!

I’m serious!!! It’s really, truly updated with a brand spankin’ new episode, the first in over a year! And all thanks to the fantastic, amazing, wonderful, awesome CODE TEAM, the crew of writers helping Bianca and me out with the story now. They ROCK!!! For the first time in like three years, things are really looking up for CB… cause we got together, planned out this episode two weeks ago, set ourselves a deadline for April 30, and we FOLLOWED THROUGH and WROTE OUR PARTS BY THEN! It’s AMAZING!!! LOL We’re really excited, if you can’t tell – I am at least! – so we’re hoping there are still some readers hanging around out there who will be excited about this too. I’m a little afraid all of them are now working on the story with me… hehehe. But if you are out there, please send us some feedback on the new episode – we would really love to know if there’s anyone reading! April 16^th Updates

Here’s your fanfic Easter egg of the day, containing Chapters 29-31 of Sarah’s story “Then Again”! These are EXCITING chapters, lemme tell you, so savor them and be sure to send Sarah feedback on her amazing work.

BMS readers, just a heads up – I have a good start on the next chapter, but I’m going to be incredibly busy for the next few weeks, until the semester is over. I have two huge projects/papers to do, two tests that I need to pass before I can student teach or graduate college, and various other things for classes. I’m gonna be stressed out, and while writing is a nice way to keep myself sane sometimes, I can’t make BMS a very high priority at the moment. I’ll write if I can, but don’t expect too much of me. I’ll get back to more regular updates once finals are over!

But some good news for the CB readers – the writing team thing is going GREAT!! We’ve been getting organized, and I think we’re probably going to start writing this week! So if everything goes as planned, you should have at least one new episode within the next few weeks! Stay tuned!

Thanks to your input from those polls I put up awhile ago, I’ve totally rearranged the Hosted Stories page. The majority of those who voted said they look for stories based on which Boy they’re about, so on the Hosted page, you will now find different sections for each Boy. The in-progress stories are located in their respective sections, but can also be found right at the front of the Hosted Stories page so you’ll be able to get to them quickly when they’re updated.

April 4^th Updates

Long overdue hosted update today! Chapters 7-8 of Fahrenhyte’s “It’s My Life” are up, as well as Chapters 26-28 of Sarah’s “Then Again.” Don’t forget feedback!

But I had you going for a minute there, didn’t I? ;) LOL maybe not. Either way, I ALWAYS do something to the site on April Fool’s, so just sticking with the tradition. Chapter 114 of “By My Side” is up. Also, there is a kinda-sorta hosted update… Fahrenhyte has done a little editing to her story “It’s My Life” and made some changes to the first six chapters, so I’ve posted the new versions of Chapters 1-6. For the most part, the changes are minor; I think the only chapter that’s a LOT different is Chapter 6. But if you’re reading the story and want to know for sure what has been changed, email Fahrenhyte. Her email is posted with her story. Chapter 7 of IML should be posted next time I update. :)

March 17^th Updates

Big update today! Chapters 112-113 of “By My Side” are up, as well as Chapters 20-23 of Sarah’s “Then Again” – whoo hoo for writing time over spring break!! LOL.

Also, Bianca and I have an announcement regarding our collaborated medical drama “Code Blue.” We are NOT quitting the story, but it has been a LONG time since we’ve been able to update it regularly because of the changes in writers, the individual stories we’ve been working on, our personal lives, etc. There’s a number of reason, but plain and simple, we just haven’t been able to get our act together, and we don’t have the time or motivation to keep it going by ourselves anymore. So, we’re asking for help. We’re looking for people who would be willing to write parts for the story (along with us), in order to get new episodes out more regularly again. March 12^th Updates

Chapter 110 of “By My Side” is up, as well as Chapters 16-19 of Sarah’s “Then Again.” I haven’t actually gotten around to reading this set yet, but I’m sure they’re wonderful as always. I really love that story! Hopefully you’ve checked it out too; if not, you definitely should! Only make sure you read the first story, “Second Chances,” first.

Also, thanks to those of you who have voted in the polls I put up! If you haven’t yet, I’m going to leave them up for awhile longer, so please vote! But so far, one change I know I’m going to make when I have time is to rearrange the Hosted Stories page so they’re divided by which Boy they’re about. There’s just SO many hosted stories that I know it’s probably daunting to scroll through them all and choose one to read, and most of you said you choose a story based on which guy it’s about, so I figured it might help if I arrange them that way. Lemme know if anyone has any thoughts on this or anything else related to the site, the polls, the stories, whatever. Thanks!

One last thing – I have a GuestMap on the main page, and I know for a fact that I have visitors from many more countries and states than are represented on that map. If you haven’t signed it yet, go represent for your country/state and sign! I think it would be cool to have a visual for how many different nationalities read Bsb fanfic on this site, and I think the whole GuestMap thing is such a cool idea, I want mine to be full and pretty! February 26^th Updates

I think last week’s plagiarism issue has pretty much been resolved. There’s still been no word from Tanja, the girl who did the plagiarizing, but a few of us have spoken out on the Busted forum, and everyone is well-aware that the stories she posted were other people’s Bsb fanfics. Thanks so much to those of you who registered and posted in support of us. :)

As for actual updates, Chapter 108 of “By My Side” is up, as well as Chapter 12 of Sarah’s story “Then Again.” Any comments would be appreciated, and that goes for both of us! =D Thanks for reading!

CB fans, bear with us – I actually wrote this weekend, so I didn’t do anything for the Code Blue thing I mentioned last week, and Bianca’s moving tomorrow, so she hasn’t been around either. We’ll get back to you though, I promise!

February 21^st Updates

Ladies and gentlemen(?), we have an issue. A girl named Tanja has been taking fanfics associated with this site (hosted stories, stories linked on my Favorites page, and even one of mine!), changing the Backstreet Boys’ names to the names of the members of the UK boyband Busted, and posting them on a Busted fanfic forum as her own. A few of us have gone through the forum and discovered that she’s been doing this for a few months, and people over there have been giving her feedback, completely oblivious to the fact that all of “her” amazing stories have existed for YEARS in the Bsb fandom.

This is just sickening to me and to the other Bsb writers I’ve talked with. We all work so hard on these stories, and in a matter of minutes, this girl copied and pasted them and used Find & Replace to change the names, and voila, they were “hers.” She cheated us out of the credit we deserve, and she duped a whole bunch of people who were enjoying what they thought were original works of Busted fanfiction. It’s not right, and we want to make sure she thinks twice before trying to do it again somewhere else.

There’s not much we can do about this except continue to make an issue about it on the forum – a few of us (Bsb writers) have posted, but so far there hasn’t been much of a response from the Busted fans, and nothing from Tanja, the girl who actually did it. If you’d like to support us, register at the forum (beware, it’s really slow) and voice your support in the threads we’ve started. This is a very long overdue update – and a much bigger one than I expected LOL. I wasn’t planning on revamping anytime soon, but I was struck with inspiration on Friday in the form of the song that should be playing when you enter the site. It’s a different, more acoustic version of “Safest Place to Hide” – possibly a demo version, since the vocals are the same as the album version. I’m not sure, but I think it’s absolutely gorgeous, and it gave me the idea for a more simplified, muted, pretty layout revolving around what the guys do best – singing. I’ve always wanted to use the lyrics to that song for a layout, cause they fit the theme of my site so well… my own little “safest place to hide” LOL. And I figured the stage or the recording studio were probably great escapes for the guys, so that’s the theme of this layout. I’ll miss my Sphynkter layout, but this one is a little less blinding, and I know some of you were getting sick of hearing Blow Your Mind every time you came on the site LOL. I still have a song, obviously, but if you get sick of it, just pause it. This one also doesn’t loop, so if you want it to play again after it stops, just click the play button. The control’s in the little pink box above Howie on the layout if you haven’t noticed it.

As for actual updates, Chapter 107 of my story “By My Side” is FINALLY up – I’m really sorry for the delay on it; I just haven’t had much writing time the last couple of weeks, and it’ll be a few more days before I have some time, so bear with me.

That still holds true, but unfortunately I haven’t gotten a chance to talk to Bianca yet (she’s moving soon, so she’s been pretty busy, and we just haven’t met up online in days), so it’s not ready to go yet. As I told my group, the announcement isn’t an update, but it’s also not that we’re quitting. I guess you could say it’s a good announcement, but that all depends on how you react to it… Anyway, hang on a few days, and Bianca and I will finalize things and get back to you!

January 29^th Updates

Whooo two big updates in a row – fancy that!! I’ve got a new chapter of “By My Side” up, Chapter 106… and we’re at a much happier place than we were in this chapter of “Broken,” let me just say LOL. :)

Also, I have ANOTHER new hosted story!! This one is the sequel to the story I posted last week, “Second Chances.” It’s called “Then Again,” and it takes on a new suspense storyline and also involves AJ more, as well as Brian. So… if you like suspense or romance, AJ or Brian, or just good fanfiction, do yourself a favor and go read “Second Chances,” then the new sequel, “Then Again,” which can be found in the In-Progress section of the Hosted Stories page.

Also, my Favorite Fanfics page has been updated with… “Second Chances”! I hadn’t read the whole story yet when I agreed to host it; it was one of those stories that I could tell just from looking at it that it was well-written. But I finished reading it this weekend, and it is SO good! Such a breath of fresh air for me, reading a Brian romance! I haven’t read a good new one in so long LOL. First DS update of 2006! Happy New Year! I actually have some brand new stuff for you to ring in the new year too! First up, Chapter 3 of Shauna’s “I’ll Be Your Reason” has been posted. Also, a brand new hosted story! This one is called “Remembering,” and it’s by Amy (my third hosted Amy! LOL). It’s a really cute romance novella centering around Nick, and the words “short and sweet” fit it perfectly – it can be read in one sitting and is definitely sweet. It’s already finished too, so it can be found in the Finished section on the Hosted page.
