been working pretty steadily on this episode since February, but we’re down a
writer, and that delayed us over the summer.
We have two more episodes in the works, so there shouldn’t be such a

just for the sake of maintaining that schedule.

Let’s hear it for two updates in a
row! As promised, Chapters 4 and 5 of my
story “Secrets of the Heart” are finally up, after a ten month hiatus. I hope you like them!
Just FYI, here’s the deal with
that story: I started “Secrets” last
October on a whim, during a three-day weekend when I was really stressed out
with work and desperately needed an escape, something to take my mind off
everything that was bugging me for three days.
I found that escape in planning and writing the beginning of this
story. After that, I got busy with life
and with my two collaborations, 00Carter and Undead, and I was never quite in
the right mood at the right time to write much more of Secrets. I finally reread what I’d posted of it this
past weekend and decided that I still really liked it, and lo and behold, my
muse finally decided she would come out of her hole and feed me some
inspiration to write more of it – two chapters in two days, in fact! I’m thrilled about that! Unfortunately for Secrets, I’m still committed
to my two collabs, and school is starting back up
soon, so the writing time I can dedicate to it is going to be limited. The collaborated stories will always come
first as long as I have co-writers depending on me for parts. That said, I’m really hoping now that I’ve
revived this story, I’ll be able to keep it going and not subject you to any
more ten-month delays! Thanks to those
of you who read it when I posted it originally and gave me such encouraging
feedback and have been waiting patiently for updates, and thanks to those of
you who will read it for the first time now (and hopefully send feedback as
well! ;))!
And now, onto hosted story
updates! Izzy,
a much-loved writer who has been around in the Bsb fandom for longer than I
have, has kindly allowed me to host a couple of stories from her website, which
is currently hosted on Geocities and so is in danger of disappearing once
Geocities goes down in October (although now that Izzy’s
aware of this, hopefully she’ll get her site moved!). So I’m now hosting two of my favorite
stories, “Come Together” and “Documentaries.”
“Come Together” is a story Izzy co-wrote with
Cecilia (who also co-wrote “Survivor,” another of my old favorites). It’s set in the early days of Bsb and
basically tells the story of how they came together and what those initial few
months were like. It’s incredibly cute,
fun, funny, and well-written, a must-read for all Bsb fans! “Documentaries” is a short story, also
featuring the whole group, and also quite poignant. Definitely check out both of them if you
haven’t before! You can find them in the
hosted group stories section.
Also, Case #3 of “The Baylee
Chronicles” series by Honey, “The Case of the Summer Sniffles,” is up. Enjoy!

Chapter 39 of “Song for the
Undead” is up! Also, just an FYI – I’ve
been working on “Secrets of the Heart” this weekend. You may or may not remember, but that’s the
story I started and posted three chapters of last October and then neglected
for the past ten months LOL. I dunno
what sparked it, but I reread those first three chapters and what I had of the
fourth and started writing on it again.
I’m hoping to have the next two chapters ready to post in the next few
days, so stay tuned, and if you’re interested, you may want to go refresh your
memory on the first three.

I have a “new” hosted story today,
“Remember Me This Way” by Jen. This
story has been around for five years or so, but as it’s currently posted on
Geocities, I’m now hosting it for the author, my friend Jen. It’s a Nick romance/drama, and I’ll say
this: if you like Broken and BMS, I’m pretty
sure you will love this story too! It’s
right up that alley, though different circumstances. It’s posted up through Chapter 20, and I HOPE
now that I’ve done some hinting and some begging with Jen, that she’ll get

I also have a new section of the
site to debut. It’s called Don’t Wanna Lose You Now, and it’s an archive of
some of my favorite fanfics which have already disappeared from their original

Geocities page known as “The BSB Treasury.”
I’ve changed the links on quite a few of my favorite fanfics and a few
humor stories too to link to the new website.

I’ve spent the last few days doing
some housekeeping on the site to prepare for the big Geocities shutdown in
October. All complete and in-progress
hosted stories have now been moved onto my domain, dreamers-sanctuary.com, so
links have changed for all of those. The
Hosted Stories page is updated with all stories still currently hosted on the
site. As warned, the only hosted stories
I did not moved were the ones that haven’t been updated in over two years. They will remain on Geocities until it goes
down in October.
I also did a little re-organizing
with my stories. The old stories found
on the page I call “The Vault” had to be moved off Geocities as well, so their
links have also changed. Also, I moved
all my discontinued stories (most of them collaborations) onto a new page
called Discontinued Stories, which can be accessed off The Vault page. And speaking of collaborated stories, I moved
all of those onto the My Stories page, so the Collaborated Stories page is no
longer its own section. So now you can
access all stories I’ve written or co-written through the My Stories page,
including Song for the Undead and 00Carter.
I figured it would be easier to keep everything in one place. Code Blue has also been officially moved on
to the domain; part of it was already, but some pages still linked back to the
old Geocities account, so that should be changed now.
A few of the other pages have been
updated too, such as My Favorite Fanfics.
As you click through the site, please let me know if you come across any
broken links or any pages that don’t work.
I’ve tried to check and double-check, but there are so many pages of
this site, it’s very likely I still missed things. So just shoot me an email and let me know if
you find anything that needs fixing, and I’ll take care of it. Thanks!

One last tip: If you come across a page that you think
should have been updated and doesn’t appear to be, refresh your browser. I’m using Google Chrome now instead of IE,
and it’s terrible about loading old versions of pages unless I refresh. You shouldn’t find any Geocities ads on any
of the pages anymore, and nothing that’s part of my site should go to a
Geocities link, so there are two hints that you may need to refresh, if you
come across either of those things.

About six years ago, I posted
Chapter 99 of “Broken,” in which the prospect of amputation (or as I prefer to
call it, “choppage”) comes up for the first time, and
I was sooo nervous and excited for the reactions from readers (and I was not
disappointed, cause you guys rock!!).
This chapter is the first one since then that compares to that for
me. Rose and I would love, love, LOVE to
hear your thoughts – good or bad – after you’re done reading! This part of the story has been about eleven

ATTENTION HOSTED AUTHORS: As of right now, all hosted stories, as was
my original website, are hosted on a free Geocities account. The reason I always put hosted stories there
is because my domain, dreamers-sanctuary.com, used to not have enough space for
all of them. I now have a lot more space
in my domain, which is lucky, because Geocities will be shutting down its free
service later in the year. Over the
summer, I will be moving the hosted stories over to my domain and doing a
little housekeeping in the process. All
finished and in-progress hosted stories will be moved. I will NOT be moving discontinued
stories. That means that if you are the
author of an eternally unfinished story that’s hosted here, your story will no
longer be online on DS come next year, unless you decide to start updating it
again (in which case, let me know!). It
will be your responsibility to make sure you back up a copy of your work before
that time. I don’t have a date yet for
when Geocities will be closing its service, but I will let you know when I find
out.
Readers, if you have a favorite
hosted story that is discontinued on this site, make sure you also save a copy
of it in the next couple of months. Once
I change the links, the stories will only be accessible if you know the direct
link, and only then until Geocities takes them down.

discontinuing their service. This won’t
affect most of the site, but it will mean I’ll have to move all my hosted
stories from the free Geocities accounts they’re currently stored in to my
domain. Links will change, and I will
also use the opportunity to do some cleaning up of the site. I will not be moving hosted stories that have
been discontinued or just haven’t been updated in years. This won’t happen until summer, but if you
are an author or fan of the discontinued/unfinished hosted stories, make sure
you have back-up copies before I take them down. All finished stories or stories that are
still being updated will stay on the site.

We are going to start posting this story a little differently – instead
of posting an entire episode at a time, we’re going to post it in parts, one per
week. This will allow us to update more
regularly (weekly until we run out of parts, by which time we hope the next
episode will be done or almost done), and it won’t overwhelm you with a ton to
read at once, since our episodes have gotten to be pretty long altogether. So expect Part 2 to be up next Sunday! There are some other additions to the

New project = more regular
updates! Yay! Chapter 2 of my new collab,
currently known as “4.15.12,” is up. I
know it’s not a whole lot to go off of yet, but Rose, Dee, and I would really

February 3rd Updates
New year, new story! I’m super excited to debut a new collaborated
project that has been in the works since last July LOL. I’m writing it with Rose and Dee, two of my
“00Carter” co-writers. The working title
is “4.15.12,” which is just a mask for the real title, which will be revealed
after we’ve posted a portion of the story.
We don’t want to give away the premise too early, beyond what we tell in
the summary. This is a venture into a
new genre for me, the supernatural/horror genre, which I’ve only dabbled in
through short stories, never a novel.
I’m really excited about it and hope you will check it out and let us
know what you think! Thanks!
January 2nd Updates
Happy New Year!
I hope everyone had a safe and
happy start to 2009! This April will
mark the end of DS’s ninth year in existence and the
beginning of its tenth, which blows my mind just a little. I honestly never intended to be writing
Backstreet Boys fanfic for as long as I have LOL, but I can assure you that at
this point, I have no intentions of stopping any time soon. It’s still my favorite hobby. :)
I know last year was kind of a
slow year for this site, after the excitement of finishing BMS last
January. I really spent a big part of
the year trying to find the perfect next big project for me. I wrote a few short stories, planned out and
even started writing some longer stories, and finally, in October, I started
posting a new novel called “Secrets of My Heart.” This is the story I’m hoping to make my “main
project” for 2009 and however much longer it takes to complete it. That said, I haven’t updated it SINCE October
and am still slowly working on the fourth chapter. I’m hoping my inspiration will kick in again
soon so I can be more productive on it than I have been.
In the meantime, the collaboration
“00Carter” is going well and is my favorite thing to write right now, so you
should expect lots more (and hopefully more regular) updates of that in the new
year. I also have another collaborated
project in the works with Rose and Dee, which you should hopefully see online
soon. It’s very different from 00Carter,
Broken, or basically anything you’ve seen from me before, so I’m really excited
about debuting that, whenever it’s ready.
So that’s just a snapshot of what
you can expect from the site this year.
As for updates, I do have a couple little ones…
First, the Links page has been
updated with a new and wonderful addition – the Backstreet Boys Fan Fiction
Yellow Pages is BACK! Fanfic fans who
have been around as long as I have will probably remember the Yellow Pages from
back in the good old days… 1999-2001ish?
The page was a massive collection of links to fanfic sites, even better
than Google! Unfortunately, it stopped
updating some years ago, and I’m not sure if it’s even still online. It was brought back once, but that owner
stopped maintaining it too. Well
finally, it’s back for a third round! I
believe it still contains the original links, plus some new ones, and it has
also been updated to show which sites are still active and being updated, to
make your browsing easier. So check it

Finally, I posted a new “segment”
(for lack of a better word) I wrote the other day called “All I Really Need to
Know I Learned From Fanfiction.” It’s just kind of a funny, self-reflective
thing I came up with during this rare stretch of free time I’ve had while I’ve
